I only played solo/co-op yesterday, was getting decent XP and all my kills were counting but as soon as they announced the XP cap for solo/co-op, that's when all my progression stopped. So yeah unfortunately they've done it on purpose it seems.
Like many of the replies here, I bought the game purely for the skirmish mode aka solo/co-op. I grew up with BF1942 and I loved playing the skirmish mode in that.
I just don't understand why they even care if people are farming, why does it matter if people want to get to max level as fast as possible. I see it as when they're all done with farming to max level, they'll get bored with the game because they have nothing else to unlock and therefore lose interest. People have been farming in Battlefield games for years. Back on BF2 and BF2142, there were knife and pistol only servers to farm for ribbons and badges for those weapons. And on BF4, there were specific servers to farm for attachments for your guns.
So I don't get why now all of a sudden farming is such a big issue.

I've been really enjoying coop with my mates.. A non-toxic environment, with no lag, no campers, and no exploiters; it was really a blast till they broke it..
