To be honest, being a bit cynical, my suspicion is that they didn't care about farming before because there were so many weapons and service stars were visible to other players, going all the way up to effectively 10000 kills (with most assists not counting).
In this game, there are a lot fewer weapons, and Tier 1 is at only 1200 kills so they're locking it down to stop people from reaching Tier 1 so fast on everything - but that would appear to be a progression design failure, as they should have easily anticipated this.
They should still allow progression in the main game of Conquest and Breakthrough. Just lockdown portal is all. If anything lower the xp on the solo difficulty.

@dirty0814Yeah, If this change is intentional, I think they should at least allow progression on bots of intermediate difficulty or higher, not just lock it out for all of Solo/Coop...
The thing is to, all these challenges require a lot of kills, so playing on bots only AOW isn't going to give you that much of an advantage lol. Heck, some of the normal online lobbies people are getting into, are all just bots, no players XD
It really isn't that hard to fix... - justinwessig5 years agoSeasoned Vanguard
No one should condone any compromises on advertised feature or accept any reduction on earned progress. You guys need to stop begging with a bargain mentality.
We paid for this I bought 4 copies to play with my kids and we deserve full progression in coop
I'm in for$520 I don't think we should accept anything but full restoration of progression
- 5 years ago@justinwessig I agree I see where some are coming from with reduced XP, but I don't think it should be reduced for AOW solo/coop it's pretty much the same as normal multiplayer. It's also not like the AI are stupid I think they're some of the most capable AI I've seen in a game, so it's not like you can exactly steam roll them constantly. EA needs to revert all XP gain and mastery gain back to how it was on launch day.
- 5 years ago@waddon Thats what they SHOULD do, but look at recent battlefield games, they have a habit if screwing people over and anyway, the sweaty multiplayer crowd will have a stroke when they realise you can get all the same progress against bots at the same speed as someone doing well in multiplayer, call me pessimistic but all I see happening is progress being re-enabled at 0.5x the gain to "balance" it out with the multiplayer. Anti-player design is all too common these days and I dont see 2042 being a change sadly.
