I just got a message from EA Support on twitter saying that this is a known issue and they apologized for the delay in a reply...

@waddonThanks for the update.

The good news about all of this, is that they have all these people complaining about it. I have no doubt that atleast a couple of them are looking at this thread, and reading our comments, they're just not making any effort to reply back...
