well to everyone, I have just submitted the below request to Xbox Support, I'll let you know how it goes.
I preordered this game on the 15th of June 2021 on the grounds that it was advertised that the game could progress via solo play exactly the same as any other mode.
Within 24 hours of the games early access release on the 12th of November this feature was removed by the developer without any reason or communication, not to mention any acknowledgement that this is an issue.
The game has continued in this state for a week now and as of the 19th of November (the offical release date) this issue has not been corrected or even acknowledged.
The game no longer reflects what was advertised, had I been advised that solo progression would not be available I never would have purchased this product.
This has been a clear case of false advertisement and I'm not prepared to accept a $149.95 cost for a product that I never wanted and will not use moving forward. I am requesting a full refund for this as the product I have received is not the same as the one that was advertised or delivered.
@DespicableDozI had a chat with some people in Microsoft and even they agreed that not getting XP or Attachment Progression in Solo/Coop All Out Warfare should be considered as False Advertising and gave me my refund immediately 🙂
I really didn't want it to come to this and I don't hold it against EA as a whole (Mass Effect is still my favorite game series and the Legendary Edition was perfect)
However I know I won't spend a single cent towards Battlefield anymore after how big of a train wreck this is.
I might try it again after they add it to Xbox GamePass Ultimate (which includes the standard EA Play) like I did with Battlefield 1 and V but until then... Good Luck Everyone.
- 4 years ago@Jesse165 Hi Jesse, which avenue did you go to request a refund? I tried to call Xbox Support but was advised that I could only request it via the online refund method.
Did you have luck any other way?- 4 years ago@DespicableDoz Did you use a credit card? Most CC companies are very good about refunds if you call and explain that they removed promised content and delivered a product other than the one advertise; Capitol1 is good with this.
- 4 years ago@gbullock32 Yes mu credit card is linked to my Xbox account so all purchases go through it.
It seems like the right thing to go via Xbox Support in the first instance as they haven't ever done me wrong in the 17 years I've had Xbox Live and this will be the first time ever that I've asked for a refund.
- Jesse1654 years agoSeasoned Ace@DespicableDoz I chose a different support option to enable the online chat but when it asked for my real problem right before that chat started I gave it my real problem.
The one who answered understood the problem perfectly and gave me the full refund. At this point I honestly won't be surprised if they make a big announcement for allowing refunds for everyone like they did for CyberPunk 2077.
Microsoft and the Xbox department take these sorts of problems a lot more seriously than you might think. Its why I like them 🙂- 4 years ago
Jeez, I can't believe we've made it to 60 pages now guys! This is getting good...
Sorry I haven't been talking much, just busy with other things with life atm. Don't worry though, I'm still here!
