So, this is confirmation of the bait and switch that they have pulled. EA / DICE promised us one thing (ability to progress fully in every mode even against bots). Instead of properly policing XP farms as they seem unwilling or unable to do, they have once again done the easiest thing for them and cap/block full progression and deny the earning of ribbons.
They touted the fact that their AI would be nearly indistinguishable from players, so why is this an issue?
I paid nearly $100 for Early Access and the ability to play the game the way it was advertised, that was taken away on day 2 of Early Access. I am nearly 50 years old, have been gaming for 40+ of those years, but my reflexes are nowhere near what they were when I was younger and I certainly don't have the time to waste playing against sweats and tryhards.
I am definitely not going to waste my precious time for reduced XP and capped progression when the opposite was promised.
I was looking forward to custom modes in portal, perhaps being able to create similar (albeit limited) things to Arma. Portal could have been amazing, but now it is effectively dead.
After the disaster that was Anthem, and EA ultimately giving up on the game and the people who were (and still are) passionate about it, this will be my last EA game.
They have lost the pulse of the community, RIP Battlefield.
