To anybody that’s having issues with the new xp changes. The best way that I found that works is : On the portal website click “Create something new” pick your mode and maps, and then pvp ai.
that should work.
Classic era factions work too. Which is great, but it has to be those specific maps.
it won’t let you use cross era maps with this setting.
Kinda sad, but honestly I’m glad this is finally re enabled.
the only change I’d do is allow the moderate Xp if you clicked the era experience, allow you to change the Map Faction. (I.e. BF3 on 2042 maps or bf3 vs 1942 etc) and to allow mixed squads like in solo/ co-op. So I can at least have some ai squad mates.
Other than that glad it’s enabled.
what is the difference between pve AI and pvp ai?
PvP AI can be replaced by players when they join the match, PvE AI is fixed and cannot be replaced by players.
Is it actually FULL XP though? I created a portal experience. I didn't change anything, just enabled PvP AI. When I save it, it has FULL XP (Player XP/Ribbon XP/Mastery XP/Weekly Missions all in green). However, when I play it Player XP is still restricted. I still get Mastery XP & Ribbon XP but after a couple of matches I get Ribbons but no XP shows for them at the end of the match. Checked my portal experience, now it says Restricted XP in yellow.
I still can’t get mine to work on portal I have tried multiple times still won’t let me get progression for weapons just gives me xp that’s it. All I changed was pvp ai and ai difficulty level.
Don't touch difficulty. It has to be set on "default".
@CiroEmanuele I tried the default level it gives me ribbons and xp but still no progression on weapon attachments however if I play the ai from the main menu it gives me weapon progression.
It'odd, I created a RUSH portal experience just for testing and it gave me moderated xp, ribbons, weekly and I've been able to unlock some weapon accessories...
Yeah I picked default and a few maps and was disappointed they dont let us play with 2042 players in all maps or let us turn the time up a bit.
Is anyone else only getting Ribbon XP for the first match? I'm only getting it for the first match then I'm getting the ribbons but it's not giving me any XP for them or counting them towards weekly mission.

I worked it out if I changed the mixed squads it restricts my xp so I just left that on default and managed to create rush 64 with AI and conquest 64 with AI both have moderate xp players joined my game so it works codes below for anyone that wants them.
According to the recent podcast, they're looking to also now implement changes to solo/co-op. I suspect it'll be the same treatment we've gotten with portal so far this season. They also did say it would not be full XP so....Shocker.
I was trying to tier 1 the ak 24 against the AI but it has stopped progressing it’s annoying because I don’t like using the ak in live matches. I also was using the ac9 in rush mode then going to finish it off and tier 1 it against the AI but stopped progressing as well. Can we please just have full progression I understand online is king but there is clearly a lot of players who enjoy playing against the AI.

That would be nice. All we really can do is wait and see what this season brings for PvE. The fact we can do the battle pass now alone is a huge deal. Hopefully more'll come. Failing that, we may need to accept that T1 will never be reachable in PvE. Doesn't mean that we can't find other solutions like playing official portal servers that inhabit bots and taking advantage of the empty servers. Even if it means having to deal with an enemy player or two
@Maxthewicked100 Yeah that’s what I have been trying to do just mix it up I understand why from a financial and player counts point of view. I would personally be happy to buy a premium account if they had full progression against AI.
None of my portal modes are working for weekly missions but they worked both week 1 and week 2, did they change something?
It works you just can't have a password now I guess.
Yep, I can confirm that. Playing in a portal custom experience with moderate xp, ribbons and weekly on green now if you set a password you can't earn ribbons etc. anymore.
