What has 2042 done better than past battlefield titles. I say give credit where credit is due and if not well let's hear that too ☺️ Credit to the weapon plus system I think that is a cool innovative idea that gives this game something special.Maps: All past battlefield games have it beat in quality and quantity.Vehicles: Bf3 and Bf4. I liked vehicle gameplay much better.Weapons: all past games had a better quantity, quality I'm unsure of.

@SCUBASTEVE120 Nothing really. All BF games have gone downhill since BF2/2142. Not saying they haven't been fun but they just can't compare to BF2/2142.

@Ahhnuld I haven't played it in about a week as I was getting killed by some random enemy in the middle of nowhere or what seemed like getting killed in 1 or 2 hits where it would take me a whole clip to kill someone. It went back to where S3 was. Not fun.

Conquest 'mercy' rule.A full cap ends in the game in less than a minute.Finally. I knew all of those virgin sacrifices would pay off eventually.

@SCUBASTEVE120 2042 has so many deep rooted issues, no matter how much content they will throw at it these core issues will always drive the players away slowly but surely...map design is just aweful and has not been improving beyond "here are sandbags and containers so be quiet now!"gunplay is an absolute travesty.... i know not a single FPS game where i can comfortably engage enemies full sprint at 100m and feel that confident to kill them in less then a second....there is no engagement distance in 2042 if you can see the enemy you can kill them in a manner of a secondnot even mentioning that this game has no semblence of balance in the gun department, part due to the plus system making every gun more or less adeptable for everything (especially the meta weapons) part do to the abhorent map design..vehicle balance that makes one wonder if any developer ever played a single BF game for that mannerno extra DMG for shooting from the sides or back no clever positional gameplay beyond i sit back and roleplay as artillery or a sniper in the case of the rail-tanktanks beign even slower in 2042 then they were in BFV and they had a lot more depth to them in that game but were already * compared to BF4...broken core mechanics especially the ongoing input lag on all platformsnet code issues that makes BF3 launch game look crisp in comparisionan entire lack of any community building tools because EA can't monetize that or DICE can't code these features....and this is only from the top of my head late in the evening.... 2042 is the productover 7 years of gross miscalculations and this community needs to stop accepting the bare minumum everytime DICE gets away with this we as awhole lower the bar further so they can get away with trying even less....whats that going to do for the next game? we will not even have squads anymore in the future ? or what? maybe they throw out teamplay entirely so no more ammo/health distribution and no more reviving since everyone gets unlimited ammo and auto healing instantly?lowering the bar only benefits EA because they can get away with investing even less effort and money then and nothing else

Not saying they haven't been fun but they just can't compare to BF2/2142.@NazT55 Yep, peak Battlefield right there, as you said, it's not that I didn't have fun with other BF titles after that but the BF1942 thru BF2/BF2142 era was truly awesome.The community mods of that time were a large part of what made them special as well, Deset Combat, Forgotten Hope 1 and 2 etc. etc. ahh yes as I said PEAK Battlefield!Hopefully one day Battlefield can return to that kind of glory.

@Ga-Knomboe_Boy all very good points I really like your point on vehicles from past games. They felt more refined and played a role. Plus 2042 gives same and equal amount of vehicles on every map. For example on renewal the greener side with office building has the map advantage, therefore take a tank or wildcat slot away from that team since they already have a slight edge. It also makes it much more predictable what each team has in terms of vehicles.

I too miss the old map styles I think you put it perfectly and you have helped me understand why the maps are like they are with basically no destruction. We need rural and urban maps with houses, communities, and townships.

Also 2042 is very difficult to get immerged in

I didn’t really play many of the old bf titles but what I like about 2042 is the nice clean menu for example Tom Clancy siege I tried that and the menu basically robbed me of my sight so I just thought naa same with cod to much going on in the menu screen. I do also like the gunplay.
