Question re. BF2042 Editor

After playing around with the Portal editor for a while yesterday, it struck me that it might be possible to create a game where a single player can go up against bots. Am I correct? Would I be able to (e.g.) create a free-for-all in which I am the only human player, or are there certain limits as to what can be done?

  • Yes that is correct and all doable @CableTongue  !

Also reason why we tried to calm down the players that complained earlier about not having any BF Campaign section in this game.  As in principle you will now be able to create all the many single-player campaign chapters as you want now and you will also be deciding what the scenarios should be, the location, the weapons, the vehicles, the works!

Having endless fun with it !  👍

@CableTongue Unfortunately the Maximum number of AI we can have right now is around 60 total.

Good for those on Xbox One and PS4 but that is not enough for the large maps on NextGen and PC

That's fine. I'm sure there'll be more than enough opportunities on some of the smaller maps for fun single player games.

@Jesse165 you can have max amount of ai, 127 + you... Set the Player count to 128 and Choose the PVP bots option, NOT the PVE bots

Hi - It appears as though everything has to be set up out of the game, rather than inside it. Is this correct? Also, is it possible to skip the 'rules' part and just set up a game 'out of the box' as it were?

Yes you set up your Experiences via portal.battlefield.com

There are a number of experiences you can just run or you can very high level design without having to really dig deep. I have one that is 32 v 32 TDM on selected maps, BF2042 v BF3, pistols only, 150 tickets, no slide and friendly fire on.

You really can make it as simple or complex as you want.
