Re: ALAT = Average Connected Player's Latency (ping) --->Why Lower Now???

@DeepSixxxx I could see there being filtered/limited connection to cross-region servers. This would explain why I rarely see my ping in the 100-150+ range on random matches then back down to the 30-50 range on the next.

Agreed, my first guess is filtering/limiting cross regional server gameplay.

I'm a 50 cal main and so I have to run ALAT/LAT graphs while playing BF 2042 to keep track of latency.  The sniper rifles have a very small hit box, and no aim assist, so you have to lead running and walking  players, and players above 120ms are very difficult to hit due to the time nudge issues, etc.

Thus my type of gameplay is latency sensitive, and I've learned that ALAT below 80ms is necessary to compete with a good hit percentage.  Above 80ms, I can't compensate for the lead on player, etc...it really is an exercise in the impossible with high ping players who are moving with the sniper rifles.  It will drive one nuts, to the point of uninstalling the game temporarily...as bad net code is like a bad referee, it gets old really quick...

The recent lower ALAT servers have allowed me a very consistent lead distance when sniping running players, allowed me to no-scope and even hip fire players as where I point, it now hits up close.  Plus my long distance shots are consistent with running players too.

Now that said, I need to have a 50ms LAT on a 50ms ALAT server or the issues come back quickly.  I've tested a 140ms LAT on a 37ms non-regional portal server, and I was back to hitting shots that missed on my screen due to my high ping, and missing shots that showed as direct hits on my screen due to lag, but at least the issue was my higher latency connection, so I just needed to lead the moving players more.  Of course with stationary players, not an issue when LAT is high but a big issue when ALAT is high as they often will move slightly and yet my screen doesn't register the movement due to their higher pings (especially if they are above 120ms to 180ms).

Long story short, please stand still gamers to increase my hit rate.  And stick to both low LAT and low ALAT servers if you are running certain weapons such as sniper rifles that have no aim assist, reduced hit boxes, and very sensitive to higher latency...
