Re: All chat
On Xbox I’ve started seeing people write stuff in the chat during the round.
Without exception it is toxic stuff. Always.
I’ll have to check Keycommands to see how I turn chat off.

its not like with the Y5 Rated chat censoring we have as is, the toxicity is going to be noticeable anyways, chat will just be a bunch of *'s. BFV had global chat and you couldn't even say NOOB in chat without it getting reduced to *'s. It's a m17+ Rated game for crying out loud, the in-game characters scream out obscenities that are even half sexual in nature.
Which BF was that? "Oh god im getting <removed> over here!!!!!"
can anyone explain to me why its okay for this ^ ^ Sentence to be screamed out audibly but I cannot call someone a noob for doing something very dumb? let alone all the rest of the cursing by characters in game? But we can't chat to the enemy on POSITIVE terms? or taunt them for camping - "Stay in that corner and see what happens" ?
this ideology of censorship for games is toxic in itself and very hypocritical.

Hey @AOD_CapStar362,
I've edited your post as it contained some language not appropriate for the forums.
Just to touch on the point you've raised with that quote from (I believe) Battlefield 3, one important distinction to note is that games are provided a rating based on their content.
Equally important to note is that next bit where it mentions that online interactions are not rated by the ESRB, in which case those interactions would be subject to our Rules of Conduct. This is why simply having characters in the game say something doesn't necessarily make it appropriate for in-game chat or on the forums.
Thanks for the feedback on other aspects of the chat system!
Anyone saying "All chat is a stupid request" obviously is a Genz player. All chat was essential during the Quake days in the late 90s. Esp. During clan matches. I also had friends on the opposing teams so it was always fun to taunt them. Of course people talk smack. I dont think anyone ever got injured from it. So not giving us the option is just another consequence of cancel culture and all that bs. Gamers today are so sensitive. It was always part of the game.
Give it an on/off function, problem solved.
