Re: AR spread hasn't really been fixed has it?

You want to see something interesting, start working on the final optic unlock for the AC-42.

(for those that don't know, it's 150 or so kills at over 150m)

I started working on that using the 6x you can unlock, and obviously using single fire mode and a stationary grip.

To say the bullets fly all over the place even when stationary is an understatement, but then i noticed something interesting.

I switched to a networked 2x optic so i could have a distance gauge on the hud to make it a little easier to know when i was far enough away, and dispersion seemed lower.

This wasn't just the obvious lower magnification so it looked like less visual dispersion because of lower magnification, my hitrate went up significantly with the 2x even if it made it harder in theory to read bullet speed/impact points.

So either the spread/bloom effect is actually affected by zoom factor on some gun types, or it's as many have said, just a random scatter effect that actually gets worse with zoom level . (well, it's not really bloom at this rate, it's not your reticle blooming from recoil and causing more dispersion along a predictable recoil direction, it's more like someone decided to fit the barrel of the gun with chewing gum and it just randomly torques in a direction along the cone of fire or our soldiers have redefined trigger overpull to a new artform while somehow keeping the trigger still during depress)
