Re: Australia - Lower number of players to start or allow AI with XP on portal

The Battlefield community has been providing feedback to DICE about the matchmaking system since it was first introduced in BFV. All feedback has been carefully listened to, then ignored.

I believe DICE is using Amazon's FlexMatch matchmaking system. I don't know if DICE has misconfigured the matchmaking settings, but sitting in a matchmaking queue for hours without finding a match is clearly broken.

Levelcapgaming recently did a video exposing how upper management at Activision is forcing skill based matchmaking on game developers.

The difference between CoD and Battlefield matchmaking is CoD created their own matchmaking system that actually works and puts you into games fast. While Battlefield's matchmaking uses Amazon FlexMatch which works poorly in comparison and causes players to give up and go play other games.

    @OskooI_007 It hurts to realize this is the end of the franchise. We felt it with BFV and Battlefront 2 support but with the 2042 marketing got all hopped up on the hopium. Someone at DICE has started to fix the bones - there are all fantastic little touches, like their distant screams when falling - but ah, man. Makes an old man nearly cry to see it go this way, like watching the Elder Scrolls come to a stall with Skyrim, or GTA stall at GTA V with microtransactions to buy in game cash.

    Need an indie studio to do something like a Battlefield game with all the vehicles.

    Still can't get perfectly normal All Out Warfare Conquest happening.

    PLEASE, COME ON. HEAR US. Lower the number of players required to start a match. ☹️

  • Try Exodus conquest. I'm in Australia, and it seems you can generally find enough players for a 128 conquest match on Tuesday when the new weekly missions drop, after that most days you have to play the 64 player mode or a hardcore server on portal.

    ps. Totally agree with your sentiment about AI xp, I've made a couple post recently because its pretty much impossible to unlock the new guns for BF42, BC2 and BF3 since there aren't any populated servers with those eras without bots.

    @Ga-Knomboe_Boy Aye, that's what I meant. Exodus Conquest is the only mode with players.

    Shame we have to wait til December for the free time where more players might join. Do they not realize that people will join only to be disappointed that they can't get most modes running and then be even more likely to avoid buying?

    I agree with you they should lower the minimum player count requirements to get the rounds started, players need to be able to play the game they paid for.

  • @EA_AticI am hoping against hope that you are aware of this and that change is coming. 

    I realise that management is concerned that with AI and xp enabled in Portal, people will find ways to boost through the battlepass faster, and therefore be less inclined to to buy skips through the battlepass. Or they may be concerned that the grind becomes meaningless if people play asynchronous modes against Ai.

    People will not stay to buy battle passes if they cannot play the game however, if they think the game support is being dropped or limited, as happened with bfv, battlefront and now 2042.

    I also realise that the whatever setting must be tied to xp and Ai to limit boosting must be simple. Why not make it related to whether both sides are using the same values? There is a simple checkbox to link these values, couldn't that be used to know when to limit mastery? Or if there are changes to damage values or health values? 

    This would also help alleviate concerns that the attachment grind becomes meaningless if people play asynchronous modes against Ai. 

    Please help us. This game can't be played as intended because of the minimum required player limit. Please let us start servers so more people can join until an active game, instead of irritably leaving the queue - none of my friends have the patience, and they rag on me for still trying each night and wasting their game time.
