I hope EA LOG-INs are terminated for good, along with their dumb linkage

Hi. I bought this game twice today with the hope of playing it for the first time, once on Steam and the other on EPIC. To my surprise I needed to log in with an EA account, no problem, I have one. As I enter my info it tells me it won't be possible to use that account since my Steam & Epic accounts are linked to an older EA account that I no longer have access to. I said damn, I'll go and disconnect that, first on Steam (since there is not a page of "connections" I just refunded it), then on EPIC: I go to their website, ->Connections and to my surprise there is not a single option to unlink an EA Account, you NEED TO LOG IN on that [removed] account to unlink it from Steam and Epic.
I then ask support, they say yeah okay, we'll need some info (they already knew I did not have access to the older email and the EA account). To my surprise, the info was so [removed] specific it just baffled me: Month and date of a purchase (don't ever remember having a purchase and even if I did it would have been ages ago), date of birth (this one wrecked me because I made my account when I was 17 so I just lied in the year part, that is on me), last 4 numbers of credit card, etc.

I MEAN CAN YOU MAKE IT MORE OF A PAIN IN THE A** to just UNLINK a [removed] account??? Jesus, I just had to refund on both platforms...
