And herein lies the question:  Why then the lack of consequences for those cheaters?

As we have repeatedly reported the same individuals now through several years.  Again and again.  With absolute solid proof with videos of the culprits in action.  ( lets just take the wall/ceiling glitchers as example, which cannot be disputed)  And still they are allowed to stay in the game.  With zero consequences to their soldiers, their XPs or anything.  Yes, reported same players now many many times.  But nothing is done.   So don't give us more instructions:  Oh just follow this link and report....  It's already done many times.

Which begs the question:  Why so active here on the forum to block any discussion and the lack of action in the actual game, which drives the frustrated players to come here and vent?  Fix the root cause and you will not have the outcry.

Such discussion is not giving ammo to the enemy.

Having a thread containing this subject going more than 2-3 posts before closure is a great achievement!  😃

Several other subjects are also being shut down, but they are more direct and fully understandable @ChugKendall .  And the reason you most often don't see them, is because the entire thread (if in the OP post) or specific sub-posts are being removed as soon as site moderators are becoming aware of them.   Subjects or phrasing which are direct profane, sexists, discriminatory, derogatory, verbal attacks on religious groups, ethnic groups, etc. 

This sounds like just another rant about wanting to talk about cheating.

They have expressed multiple times why that's not going to happen and saying this is censorship is ridiculous and shows zero respect to people that have to deal with actual censorship in their lives.

@carsono311  Sadly companies don't censor enough going by my week XP in CoD... usernames and clan tags beyond realms of reason, names that should been filtered out but allowed ect. If I was in charge I'd insta ban half that "community" The older BF's didn't seem to suffer this so still hopeful BF is still looked on as the mature game :P

@1Hairy-GorillaYeah, I think that issue has only become worse over time. I actually feel bad for Activision and EA DICE for the amount of daily / weekly suspending / banning they have to do just based on inappropriate names… talk about a thankless job…

Whilst I agree with the sentiment to a certain degree, to claim "censorship is the language of the intellectual bankrupt" is, in many cases including this one, incorrect.

Should full on profanity be allowed? No.

Should racist or sexist language be allowed? No.

These are just two examples of 'censorship' but don't lead to intellectual bankruptcy. Indeed, it could be argued that if such language is needed by an individual to further their point, it is they that are lacking.

Some topics will automatically get shut down even if at the time, there is no real animosity or vitriol in the discussion such as cheating (you can say the word!) or the discussion we were having earlier because history tells the mods that at some point, some idiot will drag it to the gutter.  To prevent that, they are shut down 'as soon as they appear'.

Can this appear heavy handed to those in the discussion and be frustrating? Of course it is but as I say, some idiot always spoils it, blame them not EA/DICE. 

We agreed to the rules when we logged in the first time.

Especially considering that censorship has been in video games, without much pushback, for quite some time.

I think you keep viewing this as an all or nothing solution.  Also, you are asking for discussion and you are getting it, however I will remind you that a compromise is a solution that neither party is happy with.

What’s more, EA DICE, I would argue, have pushed the boundary on censorship in many of their games.  However as @ragnarok013 mentioned, their hands are tied legally in many respects.

Well, EA is their own company, and like someones store or house, they can make whatever rule they want. The issue i feel is "credibilty". They may reserve the right, but that doesn't mean they're not full of it. I've been posting here almost literally just a few weeks,and i suppose folks could look at the nature of my posts.

Low and behold, i received a "warning' from an EA Employee in my email. It goes on to say, i was issued a" warning" because, i called a you tuber a "bonehead"? Literally, but then went on to explain why (it was in regards to  the omission of Campaigns in the latest game). Really? The post then taken down. One that was voted up a few times as well.

They went on to say, that he was a "member of the community', and the remark uncalled for. Well, he's a you tuber, and a public figure. Why wouldn't they be subject to criticism, as if i as a member of this community, or a politician,or business owner, or even an employee in one of their stores would be subject to being called a "bonehead".. That's just how it is.

That was some years ago, and i hope we're past all that, but to coddle people for reasons that make no practical sense, particularly when they put their opinions out there to the milliions, makes me question the "credibility", not the right for EA to do it. 

@Trokey66A pleasure as always. I think they absolutely should be, so we can see them for what they are. I want to know who the moral coward is. I don’t want the cloak and dagger stuff amongst us, I want them to spew their bile so we can out them as a polite, civilized society should. I am no fan of the language more than anyone else. I’ve gone up to bat against people who used that kind of language against my blood. Look at certain places around the world, I will use the example of a particular government in Europe. They have strict laws in place for a certain group. So guess what? That group is still there, they never went away, they are just festering under the surface like a cancer waiting to burst in just another form. Just because you force something underground doesn't mean it is going to go away. It will build a mystique around it, almost become alluring to many, a counterculture if you will. I do agree with the certain language part as a whole, however.

If that is the argument, you don’t scuttle the whole ship in spite of the leak. It’s just ridiculous. They do have the capabilities to deal with that one individual, not the group as a whole. That leadership style often carries animosity with it.

Furthermore, I don’t need censorship I don’t need them to shut down the baddies of our world because we can: with our ideas. We don’t have to shut them up when we can prove them wrong and beclown them for all to see.

You are free to have this same discussion on Reddit without the same rules in place, but I can assure you there are still rules on Reddit as well.

I never enjoy being in the position of defending EA DICE, but you are acting as if they are running around wildly swinging the banhammer onto anyone they don’t like or agree with, when that is not true based on my observations.

I have rarely seen people banned here. As long as the person in question is not a repeat offender of, what I would consider to be, simplistic rules and terms, they are simply warned and carry on.
