Re: Commorose

@ragnarok013 The more you use it, the more it will become second nature to quickly select the required 'square'.

Time on screen will become almost negligible.

@Trokey66 I hope so but I don't like how much real estate the new commo rose takes up on screen. Even with BF4's easy to use commo rose sometimes you need to try to hit a certain command a couple of times so naturally I'm skeptical but open minded even if I don't like the style. I just hope it functions better than it did in the tech test which was horrible.

Thank you for pointing this out @ragnarok013 ,

So are we allowed now to share experience from the technical playtest?

If you notice then EA have now made the Comm Rose like semi transparent, but that then makes it less visible in strong lights and it's still a huge clunky box taking up substantial screen property.

My advice:  Please make it much smaller and nimble, but do not make the actual command boxes transparent at all.  Only the space between the command choices should be transparent.  This would makes them easy to see in all game lightning conditions (because we still need to see visual confirmation on-screen on which we highlight) and as @Trokey66 highlights, we will quickly get their placements into our finger-mechanic memory.

@CyberDyme I see what you did there looking out for @ragnarok013... 😉

I personally have next to no memory of the Technical Playtest... much less the commrose. Been a busy year...

@Trokey66 I do agree with you, at least for the first level commands/responses, in BF5 by reflex i send off a "thank you" in response to a revive barely even noticing it, so i don't really doubt that.
I just get a feeling that this is a bit more "clunky" to navigate. Maybe it is just the way they are demonstrating it in the video, which obviously is not a stuck-under-enemy-fire-without-ammo type of situation.

@ragnarok013 IF I was part of any tech play test, I certainly did not notice any commorose there, allegedly.

@TrasteTh It may be, but like everything else, until we can use it in anger, who knows?

While either the Technical Playtest or the Beta would have provided a nice test bed for the commrose, it wasn't available.

    So it's not you 😇

If you really looked, you could see it under the carrier.

    Or so I've heard.

@Fringerunner as a matter of ... allegedly I may have been under there a large number of times, but did not see it.

I'm sure everyone will adapt to it very easily once they get to actually use it

@xxxC🤭lBr33zExxx Well adaption is not the same as getting an optimized experience. Anyone persistent enough can adapt to playing on VGA resolution, but It is hardly what one would ask for today. (ok maybe not a fair stretch, but you get my point)

With so many players already used to the commorose in the BF5/BF1 titles, it may be a cause of frustration as it fixes a problem that did not exist, and could "easily" be made a config option, to suit different input devices.

    All very understandable @carsono311 ,

It is a human condition called "Dissociative Amnesia".

Dissociative amnesia was formerly called psychogenic amnesia. It occurs when a person blocks out certain information associated with a stressful or traumatic event, leaving the person unable to remember.  😋

@TrasteTh I get what you're saying but the Commrose layout has been different in some aspect in just about every Battlefield game and players adjusted. I have no doubt they will do the same here and who knows, maybe they will implement a config option or make adjustments to it based on feedback once the game is out.
