Re: Consoles player base are destroyed by crossplatform with PC

"Bought the game last week and tried to play but there's only 1 server with around 10 players and 100 AI."

What region are you?

You then say you enabled crossplay and found populated servers.  Doesn't that suggest to you crossplay is popular?

"and.... we dont want play with mouse and keyboard."

No, you don't want to.  Many console players are more than a little annoyed that this hasn't been implemented.

@Ai-Fluffy "Doesn't that suggest to you crossplay is popular?"

No, not in the slightest, this is a grossly inaccurate misread. It suggests that players have all been pressured into turning on crossplay because it's the best/only way to find full matches, or in some cases matches at all. Because the game's population is in the tank, and some regions struggle to even fill a single match with cross-play on.

@Ai-Fluffy So you should play on a PC...

or at least create a restriction to mouse and keyboard servers only.

Keep in mind that big changes like these were never needed because the player base of BF4, BF1 and BFV was always great on playstation and people have a traditional way of playing and that has been destroyed.

We dont want radical changes like that, the developer should stop wasting time listening to so many suggestions coming from PC gamers and just make the game as it has done until this last one.
  • mouse and keyboard is a advantage in my opinion, BUT The biggest problem is when you face PC players, you face a TON of cheaters and that makes it even worse.

dont worry the PC player base kills itself with all the cheaters as well.

I have never played a FPS on console before ( online ), but I would never even try it if i was forced to play vs pc.

@DrunkwoIf Man, I haven't been playing recently but are there even actual cheaters? I deal with them in BFV (which is all I play at the moment) and they're obnoxious, but I've come across only 1-2 cheaters in my time playing 2042. Most are just very good players on PC who use mouse/keyboard to their advantage.

Yea i have not seen many cheaters either.

I remember reading an article about cheat websites refusing to make cheats for Battlefield 2042, because the code was to buggy lol.

@Pantleon Ye, that was shortly after launch. I'm not sure how it's changed since then, I don't browse cheat providers, but I imagine there's still not a ton of interest in making/selling these cheats on PC given the fairly small potential customer base. Not really worth the effort unless their tools already bypass the version of EAC 2042 uses and they can get one working with minimal effort.

There are not a ton of cheats in this game.
    No one plays it.
BFV has been the only BF game I have played with an access of cheats as DICE dumped the game.

Yes.  I don't think any one would disagree with that.

No there are more console players.  They are the ones with crossplay enabled.
It would be PC having to use crossplay to find a match.

@GuTOHGT You need to get your facts straight here mate. You say PC players wanted this? What “suggestions” did PC players supposedly make that resulted in this abortion? PC players had nothing to do with EA and Dice choosing to force all the different players onto the same servers so they could save money. Don’t be laying blame on PC players. Ask EA and Dice why they force players to turn on cross play, don’t be looking at us as the bad guys here.

    @GuTOHGT

There is a very clear disadvantage. But there is no solution for that. Especially now that you are forced to cross play.

Unfortunately you cannot cross play from PS5 and Series X with other console versions.

Try the PS4 version. It usually has a full server.

Maybe they will fix the aim assist for good on the next patch.

Telling players who spent $500 or $900 on a console system to spend $2500 on a PC to play the glorious BF2042 is not a solution.

A few edits on codes would do it, like adjust soldier speed to 0.9x, which I did on my portal server and worked much better.

Either they bring players back to let console players to turn off the cross play to be able to find a match (given that the player based dropped so much that they are forced to turn it on), or they allow cross-generarion play (i.e., PS4 vs PS5, 64-player cap), or they improve the aim assist.

They can also limit things like sensitivity/rotation and add a delay (0.2 s or so) or transition animations on PC only to even things out for actions that take pad players longer to do, like running and stabbing (then input must be fixed). Like BF3 and BF4 wouldn't be so bad as the soldier movement is much slower and there is the suppression mechanics that are not present on BF2042.

The best course of action is to limit sensitivity/rotation, add movement suppression, reduce movement speed overall and fix the aim assist. It takes editing 2 values and changing a few lines of code for the suppression and aim assist.
