@Scottith_testing They also can disable it in Warzone, Xbox can't get past menu if we do on that platform.
- @Scottith_testing don't know about PS5 but : is there a system setting to disable crossplay like Xbox ? If not and if a crossplay off option is mandatory by platform holders, then they had to implement it in the game simply because there was no other choice.
But if Xbox offers a solution in the system options (while PS5 doesn't), Dice could remove this option from the game, forcing crossplay for a vast majority of players that will never find the deeply hidden system option, while at the same time being compliant for MS certification...
Reading the quote from Elenarie on resetera that @1Hairy-Gorilla found, they perfectly new that there was a third option for xbox (in game toggle, like PS5 and even like xbox during the beta), but they purposefully decided to remove it... @xXGugusseXx> If not and if a crossplay off option is mandatory by platform holders, then they had to implement it in the game simply because there was no other choice.
Other studios develop and ship games with a game-built-in experience. So I don't think it's a hard requirement for Xbox... more of a choice of the dev studio...Maybe EA Dice should team up with New World Interactive, who develops Insurgency Sandstorm, and:
- currently delivers a platform-only experience out of the box (PS4 and PS5 and Xbox One and Xbox Series S/X only)
- plans to build/deliver a cross-console experience (so all PS and all Xbox platforms)
- does not plan to extend cross-platform to PC players
@FrEaKCH82it's definitively not a hard requirement for xbox because it was there during the beta, and it's there for many games with crossplay. This really looks like Dice's decision to only allow crossplay from the system settings, and certainly a last minute one if the beta still had it in game while the build was just a couple months old.
Yet another day without any response from EA/Dice. *sigh*
Multiple PS5 users on Reddit have confirmed they have the toggle option.
it’s unclear why they have it and Xbox doesn’t, but it was there for the beta and it worked as I used it.
also I would say that the Xbox method is a solution at all, we shouldn’t have to change our account settings to play without Crossplay. It’s a clear barrier and if most of the play base don’t know about this option then more than likely it will not be used and finding games will be hard
what ever the reason is for them to remove or stop
this fu cation they should back track and let the players have what they want
- David-np4 years agoSeasoned Vanguard
Sea of thieves
Halo
Hell Let Loose
Insurgency (I think it has it)
Chivalry 2
Enlisted
Back 4 Blood
All that games can select crossplay from game menu toggle.
¿Why not warzone?
¿Why not BF 2042?
"Incredibly vague and incomprehensible response that doesn't elude to the questions we ask"
-EA/DICE probably
- @David-np CoD Warzone has Sony Playstation as console partner, so no surprise the Xbox experience is not important.
- @David-np you can add Back 4 Blood to the list
@FrEaKCH82 Its just marketing same with Xbox with Bf2042.
Warzone is a cross play only game mode. If you turn it off on any platform....PC, PS, or Xbox it wont work.
@SGT_Lindy Ok that's false I only play Warzone on PS5 with it turned off. I even get faster games than with it on depending on time of day.
- @David-np two stupid studios and game launchers. So it turns out to be that both two of them cant sell well this year. Its time for them to have a lesson
