- @DuaneDibbley I didn't watch the video but they have always said when the game launched 1 new map with each season. But if they bring some of the maps over from portal for AOW that will be a big plus. To most of you here the game is already dead but I still find the game fun and will continue to play it.
One new map and no mention of a server browser so you're gonna have to suffer thru who knows how many of the other maps until you even get to try it
Well, I appreciate the update - but many players remain burnt from November. As it’s now May, almost 6+ months after the game was released, and to learn that one single map, a few weapons, and maybe some vehicles might be dropping in the upcoming first season is wildly disappointing. The fact that some portal weapons may be brought over feels like a bandaid solution.
In comparison, Battlefield 3/4 had multiple themed maps, server browsers, effective squad join mechanics, and loads of weapons both within the first few DLCs all completed within six months. That’s not even discussing all the content that was provided at launch.
As a longtime veteran of the series, it’s painful. We were sold an idea, invested in the premium edition on good faith for a complete product with loads of content. My core group of Battlefield friends, many of whom have played these games since 2010, are no longer interested in poorly timed updates, paltry content, and broken promises. We can’t even play together for more that one round before were all dumped back into the lobby, only to find a way to get 5-7 of us together again. These games should be getting better over successive entries, but instead we few ardent Battlefields fans are celebrating scoreboards and in-game voice chat.

If i rightly recall earlier BF's would normally have launched with around 10 maps. when we had the Premium Pass they added 4 maps every 3 months.
So by this stage we would have had 18 maps or so compared to 8 after Season One.
Coupled with MM not allowing map rotation I am not exactly looking forward to Season 1 with a great deal of optimism.
Clearly not all of their effort since launch has gone into just one map, surely you can appreciate that. With this Season 1 map, there will be 14 maps total in the game, which is actually a lot. Plus, two existing maps are being "reintroduced" if you like. Maps take forever to make, they're not going to be pumping out 8 new maps a year along with everything else.

I wish they were going to shrink some of the AOW maps
@Yardenbourgaccording to levelcap, they use to be able to go from white box to full map in less time than it took then to "reintroduce" one. We also in the past had more maps release in premium than the one we are getting on the summer at some point. Their pace is glacial at best and really has to be intentional at this point. Either to drive people away or deliver only the bare minimum which is about 1/8th what they did in the past. Companies usually try to outdo themselves in a positive manner but that would appear the opposite of what EA/DICE are doing.
- @Yardenbourg I hope to God this is sarcasm, because if not, you're utterly delusional.
