Re: Do whatever you want with 2042

@AJ_Clickz We really did get scammed. When I first heard about 2042 I was excited, but after playing it felt more like a COD game. Only bought it because I believed 128 players would have larger battles and bigger destructions (similar to BF4) but sadly no.

In fact the 128 Breakthrough was pretty fun but for some reason it was "to chaotic to be tactical" wtf lol? Never knew BT was tactical.

Season 2 was said to have only 1 map again so I guess Jeff was right about the game having a skeleton crew, meet the bare minimal legally, then pull the plug on support (hope I'm wrong).

Vehicle limiter is dumb and using the same weapons get boring (still waiting on those portal guns).

Overall the game is OK after a couple of updates but FAR from good. Next Battlefield was said to be another hero shooter as well so I keep playing until 6 days in Fallujah and Arma 4 comes out. Battlefield just isn't what it used to be thanks to greed.

Remember, this was a "love letter to battlefield fans"

What a joke

It is a fun game for what it is, but its no Battlefield game. The only thing Battlefield about this game is the name.

All they had to do is take everything that makes BF 3 & 4 awesome, massively improve on it and throw it in the 2042 setting. I really hope they do something like this for the next BF game, otherwise I feel like the franchise is doomed.

Specialists also need to go. They dont work well together and dont belong in a Battlefield game, 2042 made that pretty obvious. They were primarily made for solo gameplay due to 2042 starting out as a BR game.

If the next Battlefield game is another hero shooter I truly believe it'll kill the franchise.

Let's hope DICE/EA can swallow their pride and admit turning Battlefield into a hero shooter was wrong and they go back to what made Battlefield, Battlefield.

We bought a unfinished game released by a company who has no shame.

EA/Dice can improve the game as much as they like but the damage has been done for nothing more than pure greed.

Dice would be pushing nft's and all sorts of gameplay advantages now to those willing to pay for it had the game been at least a bit decent on release.

This game was based on a mobile game structure after all.

To the players saying it's getting better so it should it could get no worse.

Any of us could have made a better map than hourglass what a dump of a map that is.

Dice as a company just are not Dice of old and it shows with the lack of respect it showed towards it's customers.

In their last Aug interview, DICE basicly admitted that the sold us a unfinished game by revamping released maps.

It was pure the case of "pay more, get less" and hoped we stayed quiet about it...we didn't, so the went in the ignore mode.

This game didn't reach the continuous playerbase they expected...gamers left...felt robbed....trust is gone..etc.

Releasing this game in this condition is the worst decision they made..and alot of gamers didn't accept that.

Even youtubers stept in and questioned the state of this game...that says alot...but then...you don't have to be a youtuber to know this game is unfinished. Now they revamping maps and talk goes around adding a server browser, but yet more need to be done to fix this game.

I realy hope that it's not to late for a comeback..future sales might depend on 2042 succes.

It is a fact that future sales and especially pre orders will be impacted by the success or failure of BF2042

@RayD_O1It's classed as a failure DICE/EA had all hopes on mobile pay to win game style system.
It did not work out how they expected.
Any player who pre ordered BF2042 deserve to be called stupid if they pre-order the next BF game.
    Once bitten, twice shy.
I will not pre order will wait for release and then if ok find cheapest way to purchase the game to give DICE/EA as little money as possible.

I would say that is a policy we should all adopt going forward, I think we have all been taught a valuable lesson.

If past form is anything to go by then they will put the next Battlefield game on sale at a reduced price over the Christmas period following launch. This happened with Star Wars Battlefront II due to poor sales following the messy launch with the loot crate fiasco, and then with Battlefield 2042. I was one of the chumps who pre-ordered BF2042 so I will be waiting until the Christmas sales before buying any future title. At least that will allow time to see how it is received by critics and players.

FWIW I have mostly enjoyed BF2042, even though it has been very frustrating at times. I first played on PS4 and did most of my progress there, until I was able to buy a PS5. But I've found the next-gen version much worse than the old-gen, mainly because the maps are way too big and because of Crossplay (I have no beef with PC players, it just isn't a level playing field). But Patches 1.1 and 1.2 have broken the game for me because the hitreg has become much worse, I can't get kills no matter how many rounds I get into an enemy. An FPS game where you can't get kills because of the system is no fun at all.

PS5--I'm a casual and play for fun. I would highly suggest that any console player with the option to install the PS4 version do so and see if your numbers improve. No, the game certainly doesn't look or play as good, but you will get a more accurate assessment of how well you stack up against other players when you all are on equal footing. Crossplaying against PCers puts us at a disadvantage in this already badly executed game.
