And people wonder why there is a lack of meaningful communication on here when this is a prime example of the discourse that is prevelant.

People don't want communication, they want to to know that they are getting what they demand.

There is life at EA and they are listening/reading, thank the lord. This is a BIG annoying issue and would go a long way to help Battlefield be Battlefield again, although not perfect solution it will be welcomed with open arms. I hope it is in the next update in May?

@Straatford87look at this video, the first part is what is cringe, can you alter EoR so it goes straight to the Squad screen along with the option to add scoreboard sooner rather than at the very end, or just have the scoreboard showup once the game finishes and get rid of the voice lines? https://twitter.com/i/status/1517109683408015360

Question / request : remove the corny lines, show relevant things then scoreboard
Answer : expect a change of tone of the lines.
This is a prime demonstration of indirect / political style communication. Answering next to the question, giving half of an answer. Communication from EA is just confusing people to not say borderline BS. People don't want teaser as response, they want response. This is just adding oil on the fire.
This should have been an appropriate answer

And mind you, EA/DICE did not quote or commit to any date/deadline for any change to this cringy nonsense we have in the game today.
Nothing specific about what they really will do to it.
Ergo, we know nothing more today after this response from them than what we did before.
Essentially, nothing specific for EA/DICE to be held accountable towards.

@Straatford87 Really hope this means, "Shutting them the heck up." in general. Nobody wants cringy voicelines at the end. Just highlight the top squad (not players, this is a squad/team focused franchise, not a solo player focused franchise. That's CoD, and we already have CoD) and figure out some actually exciting stats for your squad highlight screen at the very end (wow, I killed 1 person while parachuting? That's rad and totally my biggest accomplishment despite my 12 player multikill!).

@Anobix I love when it's an unintentional dunk, like your sniper on your squad who managed 3-4 kills all round (and little else, no assists/spots/resupplies etc.) and their highlight is, "Time spent contesting points: 10s" and you just laugh at how utterly useless they were.

Basically EVERYBODY wants them GONE (read removed, NOT! 'changed').
Why not give us the option to turn them OFF? It is definitely no problem to give us this option. And you could even monitor how many leave them on if you want to (that would give you at least an idea of how bad the menu navigation is, because those people -- in all likelihood -- just did not find the option to do that).
Do you just refuse to make this change because the community (whats left of it) requests it?
Would you consider such an option if we started to pretend that we like those cringe voice lines? Is reverse psychology necessary?

@DuaneDibbley in this day and age it wouldn't surprise me if they were put there at the direction of some exec and due to ego he will not allow it to be removed/muted. it was his idea and it was a great one and if the plebs don't understand or like it well then too bad, they will have to deal with it

@-DFA-Thump Kinda yeah, I agree.

I get if they can't technically remove specialists because they're baked into the core systems of the game and all. Disappointing, but it's at least a valid and understandable reason.

But like...unless they have a plan to actually make the narrative in 2042 matter - and it sure doesn't look like that, and honestly I don't think anyone wants DICE wasting their time on that - there's no point in these quips and the best solution would be to simply remove it and replace it with either just a static end-of-round scoreboard or the old BF1/V squad-focused screens where they just stand there looking badass.

But DICE seems unwilling to give us any information about what is going on in the future, so we're left to just "trust them, fam", despite them giving us no reason to "trust them, fam" : /

I can't wait for the soon(tm) to be requested feedback regarding the specialists.
My prediction on what will happen is:

1) 100 people say: "Remove those cringe voice lines"
2) 1 player writes: "Add an option to disable them"

And they will say, well the community does not agree on how those voice lines should be handled, but that we lean 'slightly towards' them being bad and therefore they decided to lower their volume to 80%.

If you are laughing at this prediction now, then please bookmark it and pull it back out in autumn once the next feedback 'loop' is complete.

@CantGetRight Yes, something like alt-tabbing out of the game to ignore the voicelines is a temporary fix...but it's a bad temporary fix. The point being that just about nobody likes them at all and they should be removed since they serve literally no purpose beyond largely annoying what few players are left.

@CantGetRight Straws on the camel's back, dude. The game is a mess and this is just one more pointless straw that has no reason to exist and contributes nothing to the game experience.

Instead, the feedback is consistently and nearly universally, "This isn't a major issue, but it's pointless and annoying and the game would be less annoying if it was removed."

Nobody is pretending it's a huge deal. But we're all highlighting how it's something that could/should be a fairly "simple" fix that would just be one less papercut amongst many, many, many, many, many papercuts.

There are a few things like that with 2042.
I think it's because we still have no clear idea of why its there in the first place. As Edge says, they haven't built any lore around these people. They've given us no reason to care about these people as characters, no context for these quips. It's another loose thread, in a game that sometimes appears to be built entirely out of loose threads.
And it's annoying. Just a childish bit of animation that replaces a well liked best squad screen at the end of a round.
Now, if dice were to throw off its vow of silence, engage with the community and try to situate specialists for us, tell us what they were thinking, then maybe some would come around to them. But they're not trying to do that, which in itself is also annoying.
