I agree with OP, engineers at the moment are utterly useless and vehicles are only getting stronger/more in number.
I want to point out that you seem to have missed the nuance of how vehicles are much more limited in numbers than the soldiers.
In conquest there may be 32 to 64 people per MBT, helicopter etc.
As soon as there are at least two people using their launcher at the same time, the vehicle is in serious trouble unless it can kill them first or retreat in time.
All that said, the Engineers DO need to become more fun to play. Lis is way ahead of the other two in what she offers, especially vs the ground vehicles.
