Re: False positive bans

Doubt intensifies

I use iCue and many other applications, and I've never been banned from any EAC enabled games.

Have you thought maybe you should not use cheat software? EAC warden just needs to detect it once, and the ban is usually within 24 hours? but who knows right?

Have fun with the cheating? I guess.

EAC is a massive failure and false positives will only increase as more companys churn out their own third party software.
EAC tried to ban me from apex for using gigabytes own RGB programme, regardless of wether that programme is used to inject hacks or not i used it in good faith from a global company.
I dont know why games dont just warn you before startup of any programmes it considers dodgy, or better just close ANY third party programmes it doesnt like, that way anyone caught cheating afterwards CAN only BE cheating, there would be no possibility of false positives.

Then why have I never been banned from any of these games using these applications?

Where's all the false positive bans from EAC from New World's launch? Cause they ain't none.

I could give the benefit of the doubt, but most people are capable liars. The vast majority of people who use these applications aren't being banned en masse.

@TheOnlyQuagmireI think what he's getting at is the fact that 2 people in this thread were banned for cheating and then after multiple appeals their accounts were un-banned. Basically putting said people through hell. That obviously shouldn't happen and is totally unacceptable. Both were given super bland reasons pertaining to their accounts being compromised even though 2 form security was being used.

Since there is no transparency people are left guessing what caused the false positives. I wouldn't expect people who are banned to get a reason but a false positive is totally different.

If something can cause a false positive I'd certainly like to know what it is. Should I redue/update my account security?

@TheOnlyQuagmire This is an easy attitude to have until its actuually you that gets a false positive, just because it hasnt happened yet doesnt mean it wont.
There are qquite possibly a lot of things that have never happened to you but you dont deny their existence because of that.
The problem is lack of tranparency and communication, im not talking about EA telling customers exactly what it is they are banned for but someone with a 5 year old acocunt and thousands in games has the right to at least have EA dig into their case deeply, it seems unlikely they suddenly "broke bad" as opposed to someone with a fresh origin account and one game.
I dont think people are aware of just how many consumer rights they sign away when they use platforms like origin or steam.

@dougieeenot paying enough attention to an issue until it happens to oneself is one of the biggest follies of mankind.

It is one of the main reasons we have so many fatal car accidents.

And this is from what I hear an even bigger problem on broadcasting services like youtube (where someone is both the one who claims your content copyright and the arbitrer of your appeal to the claim *derp*) over services like from EA where they get money from you so they have a somewhat better appeal process

    Hello,

I've been a long-time Battlefield fan, and have been enjoying the newest installment. I had a recorded 62 hours of play-time with Battlefield 2042, and much to my surprise, I attempted to log in yesterday only to be hit with a notification stating my account had been disabled. Upon further review, my account was permanently banned for 'cheating'.

The last time I logged in to play Battlefield was three days ago prior to discovering I was banned. I've read multiple recent reports of players being banned out of the blue - and this is another one of those posts. I do not use any 3rd party or unsupported software by EA. I have, and currently do play multiple games that use EAC as their anti-cheat service. Granted, I do not know much about anti-cheating services, but I do know I have never been banned from any game I've played, and I have not changed any programs I run while playing said games.

I already submitted a ticket, and was hit with the auto-response message of, "Hello,

Thanks for contacting us about your account action.

We got your note and did a full investigation of your account. After reviewing your case, we determined that we took the correct action in accordance with EA policies and procedures.

    What this means

We have confirmed that your account was involved in cheating. Because of this, we will not remove the sanction on your account."

Unless I have missed something, after reading on the forums here it is clear EA has not, and will not explain their reasoning for banning accounts and not looking further into this obvious issue with their auto-ban detection system. I paid a total of $95.84 for this game through Steam, and even though I have not downloaded any new programs, I was perfectly fine playing the mentioned 62 hours of play time... until yesterday.

The programs I have running are as follows:

    NVIDIA Settings

Razer Central - With no macros set up

I hope this issue that all of these players are having will be looked into, because like I mentioned earlier, there are numerous posts very similar to mine.

    @ Mods:

Why is my post not showing up and deleted again and again ?

I'm sure it has not violated any forum rules !!! Censoring ?

@QU4NT0R  I believe they merged threads. So, your post (and mine, and many others') are now in this big one, - but as comments. It's rather annoying, but I assume the forum was flooded with newer and newer posts about false bans.

@Norby123 Nah... I've just seen it directly after posting in this thread... and 2 minutes later it has gone...

@QU4NT0R  than it probably got deleted (for the same reason). If it makes you any better, I made 4 separate posts about this issue on reddit, all of them got deleted. Guess the mods just had enough  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@Norby123 Was only "presenting" my case and my thoughts about the whole drama... without any insultings, without any name and shame, without breaking any forum rules... this is hilarious...
