Re: Fortifications and Destructions

@SICIOUSI don't like the idea of all players building fortifications (i.e.-walls, huts, or barriers that the players choose the location of) but being able to destroy placed equipment (i.e.-mobile spawn beacons, a Specialist ability) should be fine.  That was a BF4 thing and destruction of certain buildings or portions of structures has been a BF thing since BF3. Taking that out would be a major step backwards.

A deployable shield was spotted in one of the trailers which might be neat - I don't see them outright removing fortifications without a proper alternative.

I think they confirmed dynamic destruction, most of which will be player caused. Weather effects will be unpredictible and can cause damage to the map as well

They didn't say anything about fortifications like in bf5.

@HappyHourSumwur DICE put the environmental destruction in waaay back in Bad Company 1. One of the cheevos was cutting down 100 trees. In bad company 2, you'd get credit for the kills when you'd knock down a building; "placed the C4" click-BOOM!!!! and the killfeed would light up with enemy names (and sometimes team mates, but, oh well.) I like the idea of knocking down small and medium size buildings, as long as there's still opportunity for taking cover in the rubble of the larger scrap piles afterwards. BF has a great mix of destroyable/permanent structures .
Some buildings collapse completely, others are left skeletons of I beams and destroyed walls (Zavod is a great example).
  • It's usually the second thing that I do after I jump into an SAA seat .

I level any and all trees that block my view of the Enemy's re-approach .

    Thanks EA

    Keep Up The Good Work

Hope they do. I know it wasn't something everyone enjoyed doing, but I found building fortifications and digging trenches to be fun (like trying to sneakily dig a trench when your team of attackers is stuck on the first sector of Al Soondone). Perhaps it'll be a specialist perk?
