If you hit H i believe you can set chat to be disabled. I don't think you're banned you would have gotten an email.

Hmmm strange, nothing has happened yet. I just tried that with my buddies, but they don't see anything I type, but I do see what they type. I think I'll have to delete my game and download it again. I have already cleared my cache in the hope that it might solve the problem, but thanks for the information!

Settings are stored in MyDocuments BF2042 folder you could try moving that folder to the desktop and restart BF2042, the folder will be recreated with default settings and see if that helps. You of course would have to redo all your in-game settings.

What are some of the most offensive things you might have said? For science of course.
