@DaveTheBrave_USADo you know how much your "skill" and hard work is worth Dave? 9,99$ in the store per shortcut bundle. So idk why you think we, who prefer pve over pvp shouldnt be alowed to unlock our stuff in solo/coop because at the end of the day buddy DICE doesnt give 2 sh its about your skill and hard work and people are gonna buy the shortcut bundles and get instant full unlocks 🙂

uhh hey man it's a Battlefield game not a Chinese free to play game. There's already level 40-60 ANYWAY so who gives a flyin * if full xp is awarded?? PVE players don't even touch multiplayer anyway if you're so worried you'll see someone use the same skin as you!! The marketing campaign promised progression would be the same in all 3 modes, no cap included no xp limit none of it.

I'm not saying you should not unlock in solo. I'm just saying unlock everything, fine but the higher level stuff unlocked in solo should stay in solo. 

Lets get back to basics, guys. They promised "universal progression across all modes" I cant find the image at the moment but that is litterly what it says. So can we just get back what was promised please instead of talking about seperating them from multiplayer.

Perhaps if you feel that a long grind on MP is justified when it will eventually be on sale for 9,99  then your time is cheaper than ours.

Fairness? To who? The customer? Why should anyone that bought this for the advertised features of "all inclusive progression any mode any game" accept anything but that full ability to do so. 

You think a handicap gamer with limitations might not deserve to play and practice to go back and forth ect.  Some people won't ever get past a basic beginner setting. But maybe after a while they figure out how to overcome and adapt and decide to join the circus in MP. 

WHY should they have to start over with nothing no mastery unlocks nothing? Why should any of it be separated? It wasn't marketed that way. At the end of the day anyone that isn't behind this is worried about 1 thing.

Those guys in PVE might unlock every item in a few months and then come hand people their * in MP. THAT is the only argument for anyone that doesn't fully support this issue without downgrades or limits or reductions. Or bargains ect.

Anyways rant over * like ea is doing just really pisses me off. I have a buddy with 1 arm he drives the vehicles and I do the foot work sorry but I'm pissed

NO actually, that's not at all what they think. They know we're not coming over there, and even if we do they understand most of us PvE'ers are not good enough to cause them much grief.

What DOES bother them, however, is that they feel we actually don't DESERVE to play on their "turf" (competitive MP) with the better weaponry unlocks because they feel we didn't truly earn it (and they DID), since most of would be earning the unlocks against bots. To us this sounds silly, but to them it sounds like reasonable behavior.

You see, you have to understand their mentality is such that they take all their gaming so seriously that it actually makes them think that winning at games makes them real winners at life. They are a tad delusional and are out of touch with the fact that this is just a game. But to people like this, the game/s takes major precedence in their lives as they tend to place too much emphasis on games and let it effect how they actually feel about themselves and their competitors. It's a real mental illness and can really be a serious problem for many so I'm not making fun here. They need help.

...but anyway, I digress.

Well if it is about the money and profit/revenue maximization, they should look to replace who pulled the trigger on that decision as  it is a seriously misguided one.

I'm all for corps making as much as they possibly can out of their customers thats fine, its the lack of respect to just inform customers to touch base with them I find insulting (And I've been a major fan of BF since BF2).

The ROI of BF2042 was probably set up so high (due to EA not selling as many Fifa 22 packs) that they needed to quickly stop the XP farms to sell bundles - Fine by me - Getting rid of Co-Op/Solo??? doesn't really fit that logic (I've never managed that many kills against Adv AI when not in a V - maybe 30 a game on foot)- maybe it was a knee * reaction on last Friday - but should have been far more prioritized than Doziers sheild or the Proxy ball as it f's over 3 separate groups:

- Solo/Co-Op players (who want to play in Portal or AoW) 

- HC MP who can only set up their servers in Portal (The only MP I ever play - and rarely)

- People wanting to go back and Play the older games. 

They could save face by having a system wide notification that they are re-enabling all XP and if any server is set up that averages out that players earn >2,000??? XP Per minute you will be perma banned (game key/system id/account)- this can be done retrospectively and with analysis with those peoples historic XP gain rate to try and mitigate false flags(it would be quite easy to do as the data is all there) - So you could let the people set up their servers but they will get caught. 

I love how when they disabled Exp for Portal that they said Exp in Solo-Coop was lowered, but also somehow either broke or intentially disabled unlock progression... and have been silent about it and still haven't issued a fix for Portal or Solo-Coop for the entire week of Early Access. Something WE ALL PAID A F'N PREMIUM FOR!

I'm tempted to ask for a refund but they'll probably laugh at me cause I have 45 hrs into the game. Though 99% of that time has been waiting and hoping each day that they would fix something for PVE... and nothing! This is all beyond pathetic and totally unacceptable.

I haven't played a BF title since... well long term it's been since a month into BF3 before I gave up on it. Then took a long break from gaming till I saw BFV and thought I'd give it a shot. What a mess that ended up being... didn't bother with BF again till I saw videos for 2042 and it was looking pretty good or so I thought.

Hadn't touched a CoD game long term since 4 months into BO2. Friend talked me into getting MW2019 and wasn't too bad, but totally got sick of MP with sliding, quick scopers, bunny hoppers and cheaters... so I deleted it till Cold War came out and got it only for Zombies which was pretty good. Got into playing zombies with my daughter and were having a blast. Vanguard was about too release and everything I read and saw looked totally horrible for zombies, so I opted to get 2042 instead.

Now I wish I could get my $90+ back so I can just buy Vanguard... may not be exactly what I was looking for, but for sure it can't be worse than this cluster **** of a mess that's going on with this release. I'm so mad I prolly will never buy another BF game after this ordeal.

Guys I honestly had a sliver of hope left and I thought to myself DICE couldnt possibly be dumb enough to release the game and its heavily advertised poster child, Portal mode without having xp or progression enabled for it or Solo/Coop for that matter. They are delusional and/or dont give a damn about us or about delivering us what they promised. I guess this is it. Thank you guys for constantly upvoting and bumping these threads over the past week and if you're gonna keep on playing I hope you all have fun <3

No, just no for insta or retrospective bans, ever. There should be a warning or a suspension at most. Imagine if your kids take your account for a spin and do some stupid sh*t. Then you come back and find your account with dozens or hundreds of games on it - banned.

I'm no programmer but as part of the "suspension/warning" your account could be reset to your unlocks & level prior to the farm - maybe that's too hard to do? I don't know, adding a password/login to your account on login to the game (which would require a patch and new system so might be a no go.)

There needs to be something for this to be re-activated (and i'm seriously pissed about this - don't misunderstand me) - as I don't think they've come up with anything so far (or don't care)

Thank you @Lunatlque  for raising the issue. I can imagine that they will reenable xp & progression with one of the coming updates, but yeah, by then it's way too late. While the gameplay is fun, and especially in Portal, I think I'll hold off for now and go play something else. 

To paraphrase one of the cringe voice lines on the after-match character screens: "Well, well, well, that was dumb." It's hard to believe that despite all the requests, reports and risks of refunds and a negative publicity they did exactly nothing about it for the release.

But as I checked, the in-game store isn't rolled out either, so I am curious if all the stuff is online/enabled as expected and if they will at least try to save solo/co-op throughout the day. But I am starting to doubt about it.
