I don't know, I have been running it since I got it unlocked, it doesn't seem all that terrible to me?
I would say it's as good as the XM8, its definitely better than the M60 or the PKP in my opinion.

I am/have been always using LMGs since BF3.
In BF 2042 PKP is the best LMG with the correct attachments and if you can manage to control its recoil, then it is a laser beam at long range. Avancys is the second best. XM8 is much better than M240B. I used M60 and LCMG, too but I didnt like them. So now I only use PKP and Avancys respectively.
Different strokes for different folks I guess, I too am a fellow LMG runner since BF2 days!
I just never liked the PKP after it got nerfed, the LCMG is still my go-to LMG even over the Avancys (post-nerf, pre-nerf Avancys was my go-to)
I would rank them as such,
1. LCMG
2. Avancys
3. XM8
4. M240
5. PKP
6. M60
LCMG and Avancys are almost interchangeable for me, same with XM8 and the new M240, PKP is kind of by itself and M60 is just hot garbage right now in my humble opinion.
