-max 2 of them at the same time of each team

-The ranger counts as vehicle so If you call a ranger, you have a cooldown on your vehicle timer

-when you killed by a ranger on low life s* happens

-when you killed by a ranger on full life you are not aware of your surroundings (learn & addapt)

-if you try to kill a ranger with normal bullets you are not smart, maybe use your nade or emp, c5, rocket etc...

-you can give orders to your ranger with the Q > F menu to sent him to a point or call it back so it is not only passive

-It annoys players like you, this is already enough to call in a ranger for me


Also, you are complaining that this is supporting solo play and then talking about a 1 vs 1?

So, you are not Sticking to your Team?

This is also not a “competitive gun-play” game this is a Team Based action shooter with tactical elements where you play objectives 😉

Btw Boris has a Sentry not a drone 😉

  • Ranger should have been a specialist perk. maybe add it to Boris as a secondary to the sentry gun.  But if that was the case, would nee to be beefed up a little.

  • I just think it's ability to spot anything at the distance it does is insane. There is already no concealment in this game as it is. Cut it's spot range in half, good enough. 

    Plus it's a gimmick...which is why some of you like it I suspect.

  • Not a huge fan of this sort of AI opponent in a pvp game. Too tanky. Spotting range can feel excessive at times. Kinda one dimensional and boring.

    I'd like to see it given more roles than simply just anti-infantry.  Give it some sort of support type abilities...SOFLAM vehicles, EMP enemies/vehicles, heal, resupply, repair, perhaps even a limited ability to revive. Give it some depth.

    But most of all I want this...

    I want Ranger to be able to ride in the passenger seat of the LATV4...with its head out the window.. blastin' fools as we do our drive-by's with the music bumping.  I have never cared for Ranger or the LATV4, but would happily spend all map driving around with doggo.

    Also I'd pay $100 for a leg lift emote that Ranger could use to help taunt my fallen enemies.  For those moments when a solo teabag is insufficient.  Seriously DICE put this in the store. Charge whatever you want and start planning your early retirement.

    @AngrySquid270I would gladly swap its gun for an automated SOFLAM any day.

    It would be a lot more valuable than the current peashooter

    - So your argument for Rangers is that it takes up a slot in vehicles for no others to use so you can have an automatic AI next to you? Got it.

    - Killed on low life? Yes, indeed * happens. It shouldn't. You should die because you got outplayed by a good player and not because their pet happened to graze you when you were doing the tactically right thing, like getting to cover or lowering your profile. 

    - I agree you suck if you get killed at full health by this thing. But that is obviously not the complaint here. The complaint is that it gives away your position- which is a huge advantage you just worked hard to achieve. All nullified by a 10 second call in. Now the person who summoned the ranger has the clear advantage- for the price of nothing. I'm not complaining that the Ranger is "powerful". It does no damage. But it isn't the damage that matters, it's the fact that it gives your position away. 

    - Indeed, normal bullets don't do much and would be stupid to use. Which is why it is annoying to have to open a T menu to change bullets to deal with this thing if you are not in throwing distance (which you may very well not be, because they can engage you from a very long distance.)

    - Yes, I know you can give orders. But you don't have to. That's a problem.(imo).

    - On the example of the 1vs1 - I meant I was getting 3rd partied by the Ranger. The other person wasn't even close. I was the only one alive in my squad trying to stay alive for my squad to spawn so we could take the point. I get engaged by the Ranger which puts me in combat and make them unable to spawn. Then another guy shows up and we start a fight- we are both dancing around some cover, but he throws a nade and I have to run for it. The nade clips 50% of my health and as I cross the road to get to cover I get blasted by the Ranger again. So now I'm prone behind a rock and the guy just goes to me for an execution.

    Not saying that I would have won the fight if the Ranger hadn't been there, but the situation would have been much different. My squad would have spawned in and we would have made a great flank on the objective- but all of that planning and preperation got taken away, because some AI 150 meters away engages with zero input from the player who called it in.

    - Also - you don't have to stick to your team 24/7 to teamplay my guy. Spawn beacons and flanks are an important part of clearing objectives in this game and running in a huge blob like lemmings is not going to yield a very stealthy flank I'm afraid. So yes, sometimes it's necessary to deviate. 

    - I also know it is not a competitive game- but what exactly does the Ranger bring to the table that supports any fundamental pillar of this game? Does it add to the teamplay? Clearly not, it retracts vehicle slots as you just said. Does it add any tactical depth? Not really, you just call it in and it does it's thing. It literally does nothing other than disrupt gunfights between players. How can that be a good thing in an FPS? Shouldn't the focus for the player be to deal with the actual players in the map?

    @NoxynoxnoxBut when there are 32 or 64 players on a team, every player, gadget, gizmo, vehicle, game event can have a '3rd party impact' on any 1v1.

    What you going to to do, remove them all so you can superleet mad skillz kill then only other player on the enemy team?

    You got killed by a Ranger, suck it up and move on instead of whinging about it.

    It is because of people like you that we don't have nice things like Claymores or Mortars etc and other fun things to ingeniously dispatch the enemy. Instead we have laser beam SMGs that are pretty much better than anything else in the game because you know, superleet mad skillz and all that!

    @Trokey66 Lost a 150m firefight battle last night to a guy with a K30. I was using DM7. I hit him 4 times and he hit me twice. He still had 36 health. WTF?

    I know, I'm such a dummy for thinking my marksman rifle should be better at range than an SMG...

    Oh well, back to the Topic.....   I want more skins for my Ranger!!!!!!

    I’ve been using the Ranger more lately after making a similar thread to yours.

    It doesn’t seem to work half of the time spotting. About 90% of the time I’ll see the enemy first. It will however spot enemies like 500 yards out randomly, and I’m wondering what the hell are you shooting at? 

    Every time I encounter a Ranger, I try to kill it. I’ll empty one mag, then take cover, reload, then empty another mag into it. Now it’s at maybe 50% health. This is after killing the owner who is just laying there hoping it’ll get them a kill. It should take two mags using an M5A3 with an extended mag at most and be done.

    All of my teammates always ignore it. Soon as someone shoots it, it now will focus you and only you. Your problem, not your potato teammates. PSA: if you shoot things together, they die quicker.

    It should have lower health. No, it’s NOT a vehicle or a tank. It should also not spot as far out. It’s also not very fun playing with the Ranger, I forget about it most times.

    I have my doge T1 badge front and center on my card for the sole purpose of causing hurt feelings.

    I’d be interested in a hardcore option for all vehicles, rangers and turrets. 

    where when you see one you pucker up, turn around and run away. 

    I’ve not really managed to play much, but I honestly believe that it’s should be hard hard to deal with a threat like these. Maybe not for basic players but certainly for hardcore players. 

    more , make it sick hard options for portal would I think be great for portal designers.
