Well seems to be over, after todays official answers via Twitter its clear progression is not returning, definitely not in coming future. What a scam game....

@Radious1987thats for Portal only, still no word on solo/coop.

But yeah Portal isnt worth touching now (apart from the odd featured one), many other players will feel the same

I wish they would at least offer some 'officially authorized experiences' in portal for solo. As a singleplayer, I'm getting a little burned out on playing AOW/Breakthrough 64 player maps. Where is Rush for solo/coop?

So, this is confirmation of the bait and switch that they have pulled.  EA / DICE promised us one thing (ability to progress fully in every mode even against bots).  Instead of properly policing XP farms as they seem unwilling or unable to do, they have once again done the easiest thing for them and cap/block full progression and deny the earning of ribbons. 

They touted the fact that their AI would be nearly indistinguishable from players, so why is this an issue? 

I paid nearly $100 for Early Access and the ability to play the game the way it was advertised, that was taken away on day 2 of Early Access.  I am nearly 50 years old, have been gaming for 40+ of those years, but my reflexes are nowhere near what they were when I was younger and I certainly don't have the time to waste playing against sweats and tryhards. 

I am definitely not going to waste my precious time for reduced XP and capped progression when the opposite was promised. 

I was looking forward to custom modes in portal, perhaps being able to create similar (albeit limited) things to Arma.  Portal could have been amazing, but now it is effectively dead.

After the disaster that was Anthem, and EA ultimately giving up on the game and the people who were (and still are) passionate about it, this will be my last EA game.  

They have lost the pulse of the community, RIP Battlefield.

Well this game is dead for the MAJORITY of us who bought it based on progression through SOLO/COOP and PORTAL..nice knowing they screwed us through false advertising 

@wildchldit really is a sad affair, especially the way they had said we could play our own way without restrictions. I have seen other people posting that have mobility issues that bought this game for solo/coop only on the same premise, only for it to be taken away after 1 day.

That twitter I linked is for Portal only. They have said nothing about solo/coop yet, but I have been asking about solo/coop on Twitter. I will continue to do so because this is not right. They have already dug Portals grave, sure hope they dont do the same for solo/coop

I just read the Battelfield Twitter post about XP, and, besides the fact that they’ve just killed Portal, they say that All-Out Conquest and Breakthough have normal progression, but it wasn’t the case last night. Has something change ? I’m at work so I can’t test this out.

@Spidder81Ok thanks, So they consider All-Out Warfare to be MP by default, without precising that there is a solo/Coop mode. Honestly, if they keep the cap on All-Out solo/coop, it will be the biggest scam ever. There is absolutely no reason to cap the official All-Out experience. It’s the base experience, without modifiers.

@wildchldHonestly, I’d rather have full progression in All-Out solo/coop and no XP in custom Portal than nothing in both modes (because we all know full XP in portal custom but not in AOW solo will never happen).

Even if the maps are poorly designed, there are still maps to come, maybe a rush permanent mode, and Battle Pass to grind, so, the game can improve.

They don’t seem to understand that a lot of us has bought the game only because of the shared experience and the bot thing, because it’s rare, whereas it’s something a lot of people ask for in every FPS game. A lot of us are nostalgic of BF2 bots era, or have bought the game for casual games vs bots at night when the family is asleep. They seem to forget that the core Battlefield community are 30/40 yo people rather than 16/18.

Their "love letter" feels more like a divorce document at this point

@wildchldDefinitely agree on that. I’m a Battelfield fan, the return of modern era hyped me, the return of bots and cross progression blown me away, so I bought the Ultimate. If I can’t grind the 4 seasons Battle Pass because they cap everything, I’ll feel very insulted.

And the worst thing is, I don’t even understand why they do this, because you don’t get better by killing 1HP bots, and only the solo community is punished with capped experience. It feel like we’re not real players, so we can’t have the whole thing. On the other hand, we’re real buyers, we pay the full price like everyone, but this doesn’t seems to bother them 🤔

What's also something, that is going completely missed, is that they completely half-arsed AOW Solo/Coop. You can't play on the big 128 maps, and you play as the EXACT same teams on every map. Orbital is the only exception, as you play on RUS, every other map is US...

It gets boring real fast, and since they don't plan on re-enabling Portal progression, I don't know what to do anymore...

I can't believe I had hopes and paid money for this POS game. Never again...

Can I earn progress towards Mastery in Custom?

Not presently. Mastery rewards are designed to be showcases for the committed, and until we’ve determined if we’re able to establish further safeguards, we won’t change that. Mastery is earnable in official Portal experiences.

Somehow they ignore the regular official solo
