Re: Progression not working properly for weapons and vehicles (Solo/Coop AI)

@Spinner1981

Yes, you can. I have just unlocked the M911 and the sniper rifle by playing solo (I don't like pvp).

How, i had a couple games in solo/coop earlier and it wouldnt count at all. But either way Im done anyways with this game. I play BF 4 instead again, an actual BF game. Its not just the pve issues and lies, its the game as a whole, it just isnt remotely Battlefield and so many other issues

    But thanks for confirming anyway

  • To unlock each new weapons (this time devs added 3 from Portal, called vault) you have some assignments.

For example, to unlock the GOL S.Magnum you play 1 match in BT, doing 60kills with sws-10 + 100 Enemy spotted using soflam, et voila!

Just played a round and completed two of the weekly missions. My progression bar didn't move and neither was I granted the item I should have unlocked as it was fewer points than what I received in that round.

Every damned time. These updates break something and then we have to wait and hope they fix it.

    BrokenField 2042 for real.

    Okay, so, funny story...

I played on one of my Portal experiences yesterday (basically 2042 solo/coop, but with the larger maps and AI) and I was able to earn ribbons, and complete the M1911 vault weapon challenges. In Portal...

However today, I tried the exact same experience, and it was back to the same limited BS. Couldn't complete challenges, or earn those ribbons...

This game is all over the place man. They sit there and flip things on just for a moment, then they decide that's too much, and turn it off again. It's just like on launch week when they kept playing the same game with progression.

They just dont want us to play how we want. Gotta keep those servers populated so the game doesn't die, right?

  • @Tman26242 this and incompetence are probably the two main reasons. I haven't downloaded the game back for quite some time and I don't think I ever will.
It's sad that a "temporary measure" taken last year is still in effect with no communication about it

Thread is still going strong and yet no word on the subject. Boy, they sure screwed over the PvE community with this one.

    1. not strong enough, apparently

    2. yes they did

Still, any PvE'er is likely grateful to at least have the bots back in this franchise, just the way it always was since BF2.

I can only hope that Dice will not forget our PvE community and will make strives to improve our BF experience soon.

  • I would happily take an offline mode with no progression with everything unlocked (weapons/attachments/specialists/gadgets/equipment), as long as the XP values on the kill notifications still showed up.  Something a bit like Battlefront II's arcade mode in terms of customisation, allowing you to change game modes, number of AI, turn on or off vehicles etc.

But you can already use Portal to do this on any map you desire. Also, all weapon attachments are unlocked in Portal for all the Pre-2042 assets (BF3,BFBC2,1942).

The only thing wrong with Portal is that it restricts profile progression with anything that's PvE based.

  • New patch drops today. No notes about anything to do with Solo/Coop or Portal restrictions, unfortunately...

@Tman26242 It's a real pity they went back on their word that Coop/AI would offer full progression.

Until they fix this, I ain't buying the next BF title because not having AI with FULL XP is a huge deal breaker.

I still need to actually test it but I was making a new Portal Rush Mode with Advanced AI and it said I could get FULL XP however it was still Mastery Limited.

I think what they might have done is enable letting us get Full XP even in AI modes as long as we don't make the crazy settings for xp farming.

Even if we can't get the T1 skins... if this works and we still get Full XP for unlocking all the weapons, attachments,  and everything else... I believe we might have finally hit the right balance here 🙂

Ok nevermind it's still more or less the same limited progression as before.

However I can confirm that I am making progress in the Assignments for unlocking the Portal Weapons in AOW while playing Solo/COOP now 🙂
  • @Jesse165 nah, not the right balance... battlepass is still messed up, weekly missions, skins etc etc
but good for you if you have fun, it's what's gaming is supposed to be

@Jesse165 I don't expect dice would lift restrictions on pve in portal. But I do hope dice could add more game modes to solo coop, like rush, bf3 1942 cq etc, or make a proper coop mode like battlefront 2.
