Re: Progression not working properly for weapons and vehicles (Solo/Coop AI)

I would like to see Mastery XP, Weekly Missions being supported on solo mode or custom servers with bots. being at the bottom of the globe the are less players active in the mornings. i have a few hours before i go to work, but am unable to find a game.

This leaves solo mode or custom server with bots, both of which don't support Mastery XP, Weekly Missions. it would be good to allow both Mastery XP, Weekly Missions in solo and custom servers and limit the progression to be based on the players K/D ratio. The higher K/D you have the less progression you get. 

or reduce the number to start as the duration to find players increases, so many players jump on to the queue and then leave. 

This way i can get a couple of games in, in the morning when there are no local players and keep my progression going.

    I empathize with your situation but I think that the weekly missions need to be achieved competing against real human players. They already aren't that hard to accomplish, which I am grateful for. And anyway some of them just can't be achieved against bots, achievements involving battle ribbons for instance that are not permitted to be achieved in solo matches. It's just much easier to fight against the bots. They're programmed and predicable. If solo matches earned weekly missions then no one would play the PVP online matches. Also it would get pretty boring earning the missions. In the end the game would die. It's already on life support.

    @Breachieor if that is not possible, the assists shoudl also count as kills

    I do not know what they are even protecting anymore by limiting progression in Solo/co-op.

    Nobody of any importance will care if someone else right now is higher level or has red skins

    Hi @DaveTheBrave_USA , you raise a good point that allowing XP progression in solo matches might cause less live matches and might kill the game more.

    So with that in mind, it would be better for Dice to lower the required player count the longer the player(s) wait. This means the match will kick off eventually.

    Yes there would be opportunities for the match to be 1 vs bots. But most times when im queuing to start a match you see many players enter the queue then leave. And i'm guity of the same thing, join a breakthrough queue, see there is only 3 players, bail and try conquest... and then turn off in frustration. 

    I think Dice have done an amazing job and trying to recover from the launch issues, but they still have some work to do to attract back the players. This approach might breath some life into the game.

    Just thought I'd say that I played a few games earlier today (on my custom portal modes) and was completing missions even though I was playing solo against AI. I don't seem to be getting this anymore, but I played 5-6 games and probably completed around 20 missions during that time.

    @CableTongue This is a temporary/brief event that always happens immediately following a backend update (ribbons and missions work with PvE AI). Lasts for a very short time and then the restriction are back in place soon after.
  • I'm baffled that this thread is almost going to be a year old at this point, and there is STILL no definitive answer from the team...

    It's so damn simple, If we're talking about AOW Solo/Coop, then what needs to be added, are the 128 player maps and team switching or randomized teams each game. It's mind blowing how a simple over sight like this is still the same. As for progression, we can already earn attachments and such, but we should be able to earn ribbons and the weekly challenges, maybe. They've blue-balled us a couple times now with unlocks working randomly, only for them to lock things down again, it's ridiculous...

    Portal should also be a little less restrictive, but that's another topic all on it's own. Grinding for the AEK and M249 is tedious...

    Until then, I'll be heading back to BF5.

    solo/coop needs t be back to 100% progression bc of PC cheaters running wild through out the game.  Its becoming no fun

  • @Tman26242 I could deal with slower progression etc if they added exactly what you have here for the "single player" portion namely: playing against 128 bots on the larger maps (no idea why that was removed from there and portal), joining squads and team switching. Just the basics!!
  • It's really good how there is double XP but XP rates are still capped at 150XP per minute for Co-Op & 300XP per minute for Portal.  Nice 🙌

    It’s one of the reasons I left. Crazy how I can get full progression in mw2 against bots (invasion mode and spec ops)

    Full progression in Overwatch 2 against ai everywhere. (Battle pass included)
    and in Verdunn, Tannenburg, and Isonzo. Every where as well. 

    But here it’s heavily restricted. 


    I got tired of being treated as a second class citizen.

    Especially with the Emp Farms. That would allow full xp, but how dare I try to play normal rules battlefield against bots.

    If it gets uncapped finally. I might come back. Otherwise I’ll stay and probably not comeback.

    At this point it is pretty ridiculous that crate/EMP XP boosters seem to be fine while killing A.I is still a nono.

    Especially in AoW solo where one cannot do much to make them completely sitting ducks

    Yep, absolutely ridiculous and disappointing but does anybody really wonder? I mean DICE knows that we are right so what could they say? The truth? Then we would read something like: "You're right, we've promised that but now we give a **** for it because we have your money. Oh and don't forget to pre-order our next title as in the past." lol Seriously, the easiest even though not the perfect solution for Portal would be to check whether the changes are symmetrical, for Solo/Coop nothing is required so progression never ever should have been capped. I truly believe that BF would have more Players with full progression over all modes as promised and Portal wouldn't be a dead zone anymore. It's cool to have permanent Servers but AI's would be helpful to make them run. Without full progress nobody joins and that is what you see, a lot of empty servers. Reg Boosting-Server, they don't exist on PS5 but as they were mentioned here several times I became curious and enabled CP to check a few weeks ago. I have to admit that I finally had that BF-Feeling when I gave them a try. It's so crazy to see such a grenade-swarm coming up on you and I have to laugh so much about it. For me it's nothing I could play continuously, as the Zombie-Mode for example, but for a few rounds it's really funny. Also I was surprised that the Server was always full what imo clearly shows how many Players of the Community are interested in stuff like that. DICE forget or prefer to ingnore what Players want. Freedom and fun! As simply as that it is. What do we have? Often annoying rounds and the same map several times in a row while the map we would like to play does not come. Maybe it's just me but it feels as if I'm wasting more time in the queue than on the BF and it gets more worse since the "re-match" was removed. Btw, what the f*** is that with the idle timer for the queue? Change that, DICE! Quite sure many Players don't know that it is active and wondering why they are suddenly back in the menu or at least tell them that controller input is needed to make the joke: "Which Players stays always in the queue? Those with a stick drift!" obsolet. I want to play whenever I want and have the time. It shouldn't matter whether it is early in the morning or late at night. Back than on 3,4,1 and V it was possible but not anymore and I'm from Europe. I feel so sorry for Players from other regions as for the "Trophy hunters", keyword Hazard Zone and No, Crossplay isn't an option for me. Reduce the number of Players needed to start the round. Re-implement the "Re-Match" as it absolutely makes sense on Rush and BT but also CQ because of the different vehicles. Most of all and again F I N A L L Y bring back full progression to keep what you've promised!!!

    Can’t believe we are going on season 3 and still haven’t even been given an update on our concerns and wishes. They could have easily just told us “You guys will never get full xp again in solo/coop” and we all could have just given up. Most of us just haven’t touched the game in months because of this, and I’m not sure at this point what is preventing them from opening up the portal and ai xp. 

  • Honestly if I had remotely any knowledge on the matter, I'd attempt to sue these scummy sacks of parasites for false advertising and negligence to the community that bought this solely for this feature. This is easily the most disgusting behaviour I've seen any game dev do.

    @DominickB3 Yup, this post has been up for a YEAR now, and since then, we've gotten nothing, except a few wishy-washy responses from some of the EA community guys...

    I think it has largely to do with how the game turned out overall. If BF 2042 was as good as it was supposed to be, the devs might've actually helped us, hell, we probably wouldn't all be here a year later complaining, because the devs would've made the Solo/Coop modes as advertised...
