Even with restrictions on I'm pretty sure you already could.

Gonna try and cram as much levels as I can before season 3 ends. Any advice on to get into empty servers with AI and full progression enabled? I tried KOTH via friday night battlefield and there was mostly AI so it made for a decent placebo.

It looks like EA lied or don't know how to work their own game because PvP AI no matter how you set it up doesn't give Progress or ribbons.

I can confirm that progression to weeklies and ribbons do indeed count. Make sure you enable only pvp AI but leave everything else alone. Its veeeery picky. But what baffles me most is despite making this change, (which is good) you STILL can't earn weeklies via the OFFICIAL SOLO/CO-OP MODE. THE VERY MODE THAT THEY MADE. So basically you cannot play breakthrough but we can play TDM, Rush and Conquest at least.

Yeah I made the same mistake earlier. Just keep everything on map defaults. Does sadly mean you can't use 2042 gear in the non 2042 maps but who knows...Maybe they'll change it. We'll see.

It ain't perfect but this is how it should have been this entire time if they wanted to cap progression. Hopefully they learned their lesson with the next BF...

According to these new rules, we can only interact with maps rotation. But setting PvP AI, can I set bots number (for examples 32 and 32) without having XP restrictions? 

@CiroEmanuele  I just tested this on rush changed it to 32vs32 and it didn’t give me any weapon progression so I’m assuming if you change the player numbers it restricts it.

Well, I don't understand... reading the patch notes we can assume we can create a custom portal experience setting PvP AI without having restrictions (full xp, weekly missions but mastery rank capped on 12). But it' s necessary to leave every other option alone, on default. We can only set maps rotation.

By default the AI soldier number is set to 0. If I set a specific number of AI soldier (because it is a PvP AI mode) automatically xp's are restricted. 

If Ai soldier number is set to 0, there is no one on the field but me. 

So, whats the change respect to NO AI mode? 

I m a little bit confused...

To anybody that’s having issues with the new xp changes. The best way that I found that works is : On the portal website click “Create something new” pick your mode and maps, and then pvp ai. 
that should work. 

Classic era factions work too. Which is great, but it has to be those specific maps. 
it won’t let you use cross era maps with this setting. 

Kinda sad, but honestly I’m glad this is finally re enabled. 

the only change I’d do is allow the moderate Xp if you clicked the era experience, allow you to change the Map Faction. (I.e. BF3 on 2042 maps or bf3 vs 1942 etc) and to allow mixed squads like in solo/ co-op. So I can at least have some ai squad mates. 

Other than that glad it’s enabled.

what is the difference between pve AI and pvp ai?

PvP AI can be replaced by players when they join the match, PvE AI is fixed and cannot be replaced by players.

Is it actually FULL XP though?  I created a portal experience.  I didn't change anything, just enabled PvP AI.  When I save it, it has FULL XP (Player XP/Ribbon XP/Mastery XP/Weekly Missions all in green).  However, when I play it Player XP is still restricted.  I still get Mastery XP & Ribbon XP but after a couple of matches I get Ribbons but no XP shows for them at the end of the match.  Checked my portal experience, now it says Restricted XP in yellow.

I still can’t get mine to work on portal I have tried multiple times still won’t let me get progression for weapons just gives me xp that’s it. All I changed was pvp ai and ai difficulty level.

Thank you! I deleted every custom experience created before and edited a new one following new indications and it looks good: moderate xp (as well as AOW solo mode), ribbons, mastery (till rank 12) and weekly missions enabled. 

XP (yellow, moderate)

Mastery (yellow, till rank 12)

Ribbons (blue, maybe full)

Weekly missions (blue, maybe full)

It would be awsome if devs could allow to set also different era maps with 2042 specialist and weapons, in order to have a better variation in maps rotation...

Don't touch difficulty. It has to be set on "default".

@CiroEmanuele  I tried the default level it gives me ribbons and xp but still no progression on weapon attachments however if I play the ai from the main menu it gives me weapon progression.
