@l_Grand_Vizir_lno idea about your proxy sensor scenario. I don't think the aim assist would track that at all so I think it must be something else.
On the general aim assist I'm still not really feeling it. I've not used any snap assist in years but in the slowdown assist I'm really not feeling much help. My aim is miles worse than previous BF games and I certainly don't put that all down to the aim assist. I'm playing much less and the controls in general just feel worse(excluding aim assist) which is much more the problem.
Edit - could the prox sensor be getting destroyed by Irish's gadget? Never used it so don't have a clue.
