Re: Regenerative Repair Needs to Go

I also think, that the balance between vehicles and infantry is a mess at the moment. With the change to the old medic-support-engineer system it got worse. Yes, they buffed some things slightly (for example Lis rocket, just to nerf it one patch later) but the vehicles have 3/4 less enemies because only engineers can harm them. Boris turret is a joke, Crawfords minigun is useless, too (take these 1/hp shots tank, I will die in one big explosive fireball)

Vehicles should feel strong is the argument and you need teamwork to counter them... why do I need teamwork and the vehicle players can solo-Rambo everything down? How powerfull would be a tank with teamwork then (I never see infantry around a tank to defend it, it is not necessary and nobody cares). The Condor and Hind are flying fortesses with two guys with reapair tools and with the limited ammo as infantry impossible to kill. Then the argument comes, use the AA! Funny, when the whole discussion is, that all vehicles are too strong... use a vehicle against it.

And no, if the regeneration of the vehicles goes away (they already have infinite ammo!), there is no need for repair stations as in BF5. It was never necessary and only in BF5 implemented. Because then, you would need... here it comes... teamplay! Something the vehicle players are so keen to mention, when it comes to counter the vehicles.

Yes, vehicles player are not immortal, but mostly because other vehicles are killing them, or because they are massivly overextending. I just reached T1 for Lis, this is a ridiculous  achivement I recommend everybody to try. It took me more than two seasons and I got T1 with one of them. Boris T1 for example is also just nuts with the current turret.

And yes, if you take regeneration from vehicles, you should also take it from infantry, but as infantry is so fragile, the impact would be less noticeable.

This game has some very big issues, weapons too easy to use, confusing maps, too many explosives, a strange class system with specialists (really strange)... but vehicle balance is clearly one of it.

I think there's a bunch of complaining in this thread. There's more than enough countermeasures for vehicles spread across all the classes/specialists. I mainly play breakthrough and have 3.1k vehicles destroyed. Casper's drone is really powerful now since it not only can hack vehicles, but it can blow up the Irish APS defense. Rao's hack is still reliable against aircraft to deter them a bit, however you're dependent upon having folks play Boris and Crawford. Their turrets at the very least deal enough damage to prevent passive repair. Liz remains the premier engineer since you can lay down tank mines and use her rockets to deal damage to vehicles. She's really good for delivering the finishing blow to condors and hinds trying to escape and heal.

Not having bad randoms in your vehicles certainly help. Having a good Wildcat ( I personally prefer the 40mm and 57mm cannons), Rail Tank, and a LATV4 with the 50mm placed well on the map can get oppressive stopping the opposing teams vehicle pushes.

  • @protoman23 There's a lot of infantry players who spend most of the round getting killed every 30 seconds by other infantry players but can't cope when a vehicle kills them.

The fact that a tiny bit of organic coordination with random teammates can destroy most vehicles makes the complaining just sound like whinging.

And as usual the people complaining are exaggerating and not arguing in good faith.

The data Dice saw led them to remove rocket launchers from all specialists, introduce APS for tanks, increase turret speed and give engineers a default repair tool to try and keep tanks alive longer.
  • @protoman23 nearly all your kills against vehicle was with... now comes the surprise: Vehicles! You killed the incredible amount of 18 people with C5 (maybe not all vehicles?) and that is the most used gadget to kill vehicles for you. I don't think, that you are reliable witness for the infantry, don't you think?

@Tank2042Man Yes, only a tiny little bit teamplay to destroy the vehicles. And you need the godlike skill to maneuver the vehicles and to get somehow positive stats.

And the data DICE has, led to this great game, with all its problems. If you think, at DICE are sitting some holy people with godly insight, who never fail... I think the sales of this game prove otherwise.

  • @protoman23 Crazy how the fanboys of any game will always talk about what a perfect game it is with no issues. And ignore the very obvious issues presented by other people that play the game. I've been playing battlefield for 15 years and when I see an issue I bring it up. Some of us actually want the game to get better while people like you call constructive criticism "complaining" and condemn games to staying in a messed up state. If nobody ever took issue with the game it would have never gotten to where it's at and we'd still be playing the broken pos that this game was after launch.
