Re: Regenerative Repair Needs to Go
I also think, that the balance between vehicles and infantry is a mess at the moment. With the change to the old medic-support-engineer system it got worse. Yes, they buffed some things slightly (for example Lis rocket, just to nerf it one patch later) but the vehicles have 3/4 less enemies because only engineers can harm them. Boris turret is a joke, Crawfords minigun is useless, too (take these 1/hp shots tank, I will die in one big explosive fireball)
Vehicles should feel strong is the argument and you need teamwork to counter them... why do I need teamwork and the vehicle players can solo-Rambo everything down? How powerfull would be a tank with teamwork then (I never see infantry around a tank to defend it, it is not necessary and nobody cares). The Condor and Hind are flying fortesses with two guys with reapair tools and with the limited ammo as infantry impossible to kill. Then the argument comes, use the AA! Funny, when the whole discussion is, that all vehicles are too strong... use a vehicle against it.
And no, if the regeneration of the vehicles goes away (they already have infinite ammo!), there is no need for repair stations as in BF5. It was never necessary and only in BF5 implemented. Because then, you would need... here it comes... teamplay! Something the vehicle players are so keen to mention, when it comes to counter the vehicles.
Yes, vehicles player are not immortal, but mostly because other vehicles are killing them, or because they are massivly overextending. I just reached T1 for Lis, this is a ridiculous achivement I recommend everybody to try. It took me more than two seasons and I got T1 with one of them. Boris T1 for example is also just nuts with the current turret.
And yes, if you take regeneration from vehicles, you should also take it from infantry, but as infantry is so fragile, the impact would be less noticeable.
This game has some very big issues, weapons too easy to use, confusing maps, too many explosives, a strange class system with specialists (really strange)... but vehicle balance is clearly one of it.
