They have to have servers, and more contol of the options. Particularly the ability to eliminate snipers, tanks, or air craft if players want a totally different experience. Its not fun to have a plan kamakazi into you or a tank roll up on you, or a non skilled sniper just wanting cheap kills to wreck the experiene. Different strokes for different folks, at least give the ability to creste a niche that like mined people can enjoy.
I would really be surprised if we didnt get rental servers with our own custom stuff like in BF3 and BF4. Thus a new anticheat.
Those two isues were the killers of BF1 and BF5, so I simply cant believe they are daft enough to leave those out.
So lets wait and see, Im not preordering but I DID put the money for it in the window ready to buy when the real-deal is told.
If there's anything we can take away from BF1 and BFV, it is that RSP and BF communities are not a priority for EA.
There's no way EA is ever again going to allow third party servers (especially with tools like procon) and if any sort of RSP will be available - it'll be through EA on AWS with limited functionality.
That's just my pessimistic view on the topic, but a realistic one all the same.

Took you that long to figure out? lol. I hope you're right, because I don't think we need 3rd party servers that just abuse their power. Custom maps were nice, but not the abuse of pumped chest admits.

I just don't think BF3-4 should have rules like no attacking the base or shooting in or out of the base, because then people just whine and lie. Plus also don't like getting kicked out of the jet/server, because the admin likes heli's. Out side of that I like custom maps.

You clearly don't understand the value that exists with these options being readily accessible from DAY ONE of release.
I don't understand why we can't have Battlepass systems and cosmetics shops available, while also having either direct or 3rd party hosting services available (including full admin rights to manage/customize modes, maps, functionality to balance teams, etc...).
Some people are concerned that Battlepasses and new content releases would be certain to eliminate this as a possibility... Why exactly?

My own experiences from back on the BF3/4 days were that "badmins" were few and far between. It's a problem that's massively overblown IMO. The upsides are that you find a server (or group of servers) that have a map/game rotation that matches your own preferences, decent people playing, no griefers, decent server rules etc. Good servers will be popular, servers with badmins or rubbish rules will not be.

My second issue is servers with rules on how you kill a player. And servers aloud whining and criers to control how the game is played and then BF4 followed suit nurfing the game none stop for those players.

You're right I don't have a clue what you are saying. I'm all for customizing, unless it excludes snipers or limited snipers, but only snipers is okay. ; ) I don't like rules or being controlled. Don't like admits with the power to kick and feel like I'm playing the game with someone's thumb on me trying to hold me down.
I think their more focus on console and PC is less priority. High gpu prices aren't helping PC.

I have the same feeling, but I think, more than ever, that there's a good argument for EA/DICE to give dedicated/private servers some serious consideration. Obviously it looks like a good proportion of the playerbase is interested in them, if not to rent and host one, then to at least game on them. That's your base level argument for having them.
However, I also think gaming has changed since the launch of BFV. Twitch is mature and more popular than ever, Discord has grown massively in the past few years. "Influencers" and Streamers are big as well. A big name BF streamer, being able to host his own games on his own server would be a HUGE plus to hyping BF2042. Discord owners would surely be interested in having a dedicated server for their members/Discord. This is where the argument is won or lost I think.
At this exact moment, BFV has 994 viewers across whatever streams, BF4 has 3.4k viewers. Obviously this is small numbers compared to the likes of MW or PUBG. Dedicated servers could help that, I feel.

Options are key....if there are dedicated/rental servers and they have a bunch of bs rules (i.e can't be within 50m of an opponents spawn area, can't this can't that... excluding the obvious, cheating) then I just don't join.
With this game, if all is as it seems, myself and my clanmates can keep the little 11 yr olds that talk s### and tie up mic with nonsense....and or pretend mods barking rules, out of our room....and just roll with and against AI.......in big, bad-a@@ maps 🍺😎🍺
I'm not sure I can handle another Battlefield without some sort of dedicated servers at launch. Until I have the answer to this questions, I am holding off on the preorder.
It's like Dice doesn't want us to play with friends or have any sense of community. Just login, join a server, and spend money on the store.
Let the players decide how they want to play!
Offer custom servers as a revenue stream and give the admin paying for that server as many options as possible to customize the gaming experience there. Hardcore mode, bots or no bots, infantry only, no weather events, night mode, . . . whatever.
I agree with previous comments that those could be used to market the game through Twitch and other streaming platforms. People would probably line up to join their favorite Twitch streamer's server and take a shot at killing them or making the Twitch feed.

Yea bro, myself and my buddies didn't/don't really get into joining rooms with someone POSSIBLY looking out for his or her buddies that are getting owned, assume something and take 'action', or letting that 'power' go to their heads.
I'm all for options....ppl renting servers and making all kinds of bs rules, isn't going to phase me or my gaming experience. 🍻
