Battlefield 2042 Hit Reg is bugged... Here's Proof!
Bullets just go through the target like there is nothing, and this happens too often. I'm talking about a few bullets in one mag if you are constantly shooting bots. Never played such bad hit reg in battlfeild or any fps games in that matter. It has been like this since release.
The Netcode, the Stuttering and poor Performance and the Hit Reg are the issues killing this Game.
Looks like a possible proximity issue of the bounding box (collision, hit reg) to the player object.
Perhaps DICE made changes to Frostbite to accommodate larger player cohorts that resulted in some degradation between those player objects in certain situations that degrade the engine's performance.
Only speculation, only DICE would know...
Thats pretty bad. I hope it gets fixed soon
Video makes it clear. Hitreg is broke in this game and I'll be surprised if DICE can figure out how to fix it.

I also don't know if I should expect to see hit markers if I hit a Little Bird with an LMG. Can we damage vehicles with guns? Never get any indication that I have damaged choppers.

I watched part of that video. The example I saw that he demonstrated showed him apparently shooting directly at an enemy AI with no hit registration showing. However, the enemy was completely stationary/static for the whole time (other AI players were running round him). To my mind, that's not hit registration, that's the bug where a players avatar still remains visible in game after they're killed, completely frozen. A bug obviously but doesn't look to me like hit registration.
Ran into this issue yesterday, fighting on Manifest, in those building up where the big golfball tower lives (on the hill)- the building was full of enemy, my pp-29 should have slaughtered, but I didn't injure anyone even though I emptied 2 full clips into that room. Bizzare! Definately a problem linked with too many people in a confined space.
When you have almost dead tank in front of you and your RPG flies straight through tank - and tank then kills you is very very frustrating. Way too often you get the feeling that you hit nothing and other people just turn and kills you instant. No wonder that many think we have cheaters all over the place. They need to fix the servers and the net code - this is unplayable !
