I don't actually agree with the OP because no portal server I create will ever have bots in it...
But kills still don't count towards weapon attachment unlocks at the moment so I just go and farm bot kills in official servers ??? Because farming kills on DICE servers is OK. I don't see the logic just put a handicap system in place that reduces point accumulation depending on what setting are toggled. I mean I know guys getting 300+ kills in solo, DICE please and you are worried about portal farm servers when you host them yourselves.
- @ShevermiN My reasoning behind this is because who would want to pay to have xp enable so that they can farm? I know some would but most don't and assuming those that rented the server are legit players, then this can lessen the amount of xp servers. Let's say some guy actually rented a server just so he can farm, DICE would then be able to take down the server and revoke his rental. They can either give a full/partial refund or state in their T&C for server renting that once caught doing, rental will be revoke and no refund will be given. They have already handicapped the point accumulation and the vast majority of the players aren't happy because of that. If I/they really want to farm, I/they can just go do that in Solo/Coop.
- @Crystalfied Unfortunately people will pay, I saw two slot servers in Hardline that players used to unlock all the weapons in the first couple of weeks. That's 2 people in game just shooting each other to get to the 1200 kill mark that unlocked the gun for the other side ?? Can you imagine how boring and tedious that would have been.
As I said i'm not a bot fan but your solutions are solid I just don't think a price point will put off those who wish to game the system.. 🙂 @ShevermiNI know people will pay and that's where the T&C comes into play. I'd rather have just one or two stupid servers than what it is now where i have to scroll through all these servers before a legit one shows up. Honestly, there is no solution to stop these farmers and even with a price, it will only just lessen it but if it can lessen it to only just one or two left, it's already good enough for me.
Portal needs progression reenabled. Its dead paltform without that. If 2042 gear is there then enable us to level it up jeez.
