Re: Tanks destroyed too quickly

@Jdublu69Well C5 is definitely OP in 2042. I've never died so many times to C4/C5 in a battlefield game ever, and it's only 6 weeks since release!

Only advice I can give is keep your distance from all infantry and never approach a flag that has the slightest bit of infantry cover unless you want to roll the dice of death.

Move as fast as you can with the tank if you're passing any ground cover that infantry can hide behind. If you stop the tank by the time you see any infantry that was hiding your tank will move as fast as a tortoise on its death bed and the infantry will C5 you before you can retreat.

Oh and unless you are on the edge of the map constantly go 3rd person and do a quick 360 scan of the ground and the air. Infantry fly in from above with C5 all the time.

And when reversing make sure your camera is pointing in the same direction as your cannon because Dice have somehow made reversing even worse than BFV.

Other than that and the constant M5 rocket attacks and homing grenades and the tiny splash damage your main shell deals out to the visually tiny infantry models that take seconds to line up because of the slow lumbering laggy cannon aiming, tanks are amazing!

I agree 100% with you! Tanks should have a bit more armor. JS.  Good advice I’ll keep trying. So many other bugs in this game though that I’m totally frustrated with this game. Already for new maps!

  • @Jdublu69 Also, my experience is no amount of added armor can offset the high damage of C4. The only solution I've seen work is to nerf C4/C5 down the point it takes like 4 or 5 bricks to blow a tank up. That's how BF2 solved it. BF2 wanted players blowing up on-ground commander assets instead.
