I personally did not ask for the base maps to be reworked as the big sandbaggening did not improve those maps much. They should have deleted them (at least Hourglass and Breakaway) and just brought new maps with the same cadence as in the previous titles, say 3-4 every 3-4 months. This would have been sufficient to satisfy the players AFA new map content is concerned. That's it? Sheeze. They never should have changed things.
Even saying '4 seasons of content' feels like a lie. We ended up with what, 3 maps and a handful of guns?

Anyways, why would they continue working on a game when the community incessantly complains and trashes it? No matter how much work they've put into reworking all of the base maps, bringing a class system back, and significant balance changes... the players continue to cry about everything no matter how small (and personally attack the devs, too).
You get what you deserve.
Maps are still bad, class system is still not a class system (specialists are still there...), balance is non existent...

You can also say you brought in so many new features, although they should have been there from the beginning.
- @Anarchiesx The changes were all for the worse, that's why.
- JOGAGATYA3 years agoSeasoned Ace@ForumUser C’mon. Hourglass and Breakaway are one of the best maps. Seriously. What the game badly needs is crossplay off between PC and comsoles. Or fix whatever causes 1 bullet death all the time on 128 player matches on PS5.
Maybe they should increase TTK on 128???
The PS4 version is perfect and fair. - SCUBASTEVE1203 years agoSeasoned AceExactly. They have absolutely destroyed this franchise and bf2042 has just barely clinged to life through it's life cycle. It's been on life support since day 1. Rather than add a ton of new content now that the game is in a good state, they'll pull the plug and start over just to make another messy, buggy, NOT BATTLEFIELD GAME. YAY! let's do it all over again. No wonder people don't play battlefield anymore.
- SCUBASTEVE1203 years agoSeasoned Ace@59hushy6ywi8 5 actual new maps by season 5. They also act like reworking base game maps counts as a "New Map", but imo that should be them fixing their mistakes, righting a wrong, they didn't make a new map. Just added a bit of cover and maybe move a flag or 2. As for weapons, it'll be 15 new weapons (season 5s included). They seem to think vault weapons are "NEW Weapons" they are not. They're already in the game and perform like trash. This update will slowly rectify that (hopefully). Bf2042 will go down in history as not only the worst game launch, but the most lackluster game at the end of it's life cycle. People still play all the old battlefield games everyday with healthy populations. Im willing to bet 2042 is COMPLETELY dead in less than a year after it's life cycle ends (if it ends after season 5 cause that's way too soon for this game)
- @SCUBASTEVE120 The launch was fine. The game as it is now is the mistake.
