Re: The old scoreboard
DICE wants new players to have fun. If new players can bring up the scoreboard and see how bad they're playing compared to other players, it might fustrate them and cause them to quit playing the game.
An unfortunate side-effect of participation trophy game design is a portion of the player base will feel less motivated to continue playing the game. Having the high score is a significant motivation for a lot of gamers.
Remember the old arcade games showing a high score page before you put the coins in it? That kind of game is old and antiquated and doesn't belong in an inclusive participation trophy game.
Just have fun and don't worry about your score or winning and losing. Some people prefer this philosophy and some people don't. I'm not a fan of it and think it removes a sizable portion of the fun.
