Re: Time to nerf Wildcat

@Dutchie-Mario
While I am not convinced yet that these buffs are as huge as people claim, it definitely is frustrating when the balancing is done with a sledgehammer at huge intervals.

What will it take for EA to understand that Community Test Environment helped the patches come out at a better state with at least the worst of the outliers caught in testing.

  • The Wildcat is extremely weak against aircraft and a poor excuse for an AA vehicle. The turret is weak and does tickling damage, the elevation of the turret is pointlessly limited and it has no active countermeasures. I just played a round against somebody with rocket pods on the jets and it was absolutely shocking how asymmetric the battles were in their favour. And don't get me started on the more heavily armoured choppers. It is absolutely unbalanced and frankly a waste of a vehicle slot at this point.

    I've played using AA vehicles in all BF titles and this is by far the worst, seemingly made worse through poorly thought-out balance patches.

    @SlipperyLiz4rd Sorry but what? Wildcat is useless? That's straight up not true..

    Lock on range is insane not to mention their main guns have a decent range as well..
    Wildcat is fine as it is doesnt need any nerf or buff, I'm air main and wildcat already got me a fair amount of times.

    If you wanna buff somenthing tho maybe increase lock on range a little bit more.
  • @SkyL4Ncer21You can tell from your reply you're an "air main", rather than spending time in the Wildcat!

    The range isn't the issue here, although locking on from a fair distance doesn't mean much when aircraft have 100% evasion guarantee from flares (which reload rapidly). It's the absolutely pathetic sitting duck nature of the vehicle up close that's the issue. The 30mm cannon has a good range but does pathetic damage and has ridiculous elevation restrictions, whereas the weapons of aircraft can decimate a Wildcat in under a second.

    AA should be feared by aircraft and you should be punished as an aircraft for flying too close to them. The way it works now it's a pest to aircraft at long range and far too weak at close range. Aircraft don't fear the Wildcat at all, they laugh at it.

    @SlipperyLiz4rd (Sorry before hand) Just a little reminder that if you are camping from the main base with the AA just because is possible doesn't mean you should thats 100% l0ser strategy and that's why the missiles are useless for those players.

    Missiles range is godlike when you get outside of it you can lock on anything on the map and nail everyone with the guns.

    Ask yourself why aps wasn't added for the wildcat, clearly to prevent abuse from base campers (which are the majority of AA mains) you may not be doing it but others sure as hell do
  • @SkyL4Ncer21 Improving their short range capability does not encourage "base camping", quite the opposite. The reason people like to base camp is because they know they can't get the better of attentive aircraft at short range. I don't have any particular qualms about changes to the AA missile lockon range, they're frankly only useful for forcing aircraft to pop flares.

    @SlipperyLiz4rd Oh how quickly my theory was proven wanna hear a little secret right now? In fact you'll love to hear this.

    Wanna camp the entire match while suffering literally zero damage?
    Well put Irish aps system next to your wildcat and enjoy 24/7 immortality while no one can lay a single finger on you.
