Don't get me wrong, I would also like to see more than one classic map from previous battlefields (damavand peak, I think, would make me happy the most), but most likely we will not see any maps in the Portal anymore. Note that Dice is now busy repairing maps that should be ready for launch, and one map for each season. Most likely, they will add 2 more maps (season 3 and 4) because they announced nothing else, and they just like to be proud of their plans. Sad, but most likely they will end their support once again (as in the case of bf V) and send the whole team to a new battlefield.
I'd like to be wrong.
- JasonVoorHeesxD3 years agoSeasoned Ace@andzian1920 I also believe that we won't get anything else in this game besides 1 map and 2 weapons in the next 2 seasons lol we're just dreaming while writing about maps from previous games🤡

@andzian1920 @JasonVoorHeesxD That may well be, as far as 2042 is concerned... but the Portal itself is a truly grand idea which no one is against and should, IMO, be implemented as a regular feature for the franchise from now on.
So I truly hope they include it in the next version of BF, regardless of whether 2042 gets further Portal support or not.
In fact, I can see Portal being it's own separate free to play game for the franchise, and they shouldn't stop adding to it just because 2042 itself didn't work out as they wished. I haven't noticed anyone telling them to drop portal because it's a bad idea that no one wants to use. It's a fantastic way to keep all the old maps and assets alive forever, and that everyone can have access to.
Sadly, I agree with your post. I can see they may only add 2 more maps for seasons 3 and 4. I just find it such a waste. We finally get a portal mode where we can play classic maps. I don't see why they wouldn't build off of it. If I were on the team I would dedicate a new season 5 to adding at least 5 new classic favorites maps, possibly voted from the community.
Don't get me wrong, I don't mind going back and playing some of the older games. But it is hard to go back to older games like battlefield 4 where the UI is extremely outdated and designed for 720 res. The game looks great at 1440 or 4k, but the ui looks blah.
I really believe EA could turn this game around. The team just really needs to be more passionate about doing better, and making BF2042 the game we were hoping for when they released the trailers. I was really hoping for BF4.5 with a somewhat futuristic setting. Look at Cyberpunk... It was awful at launch... and this doesn't give excuse for having buggy games at launch, but things could turn out better.

@JasonVoorHeesxDYES!!! Finally someone shares that besides me. I live all 29 bf3 maps and would be happy with any of them but ziba tower is one of my first choices, so:
-Ziba Tower (BF3)
-Operation Metro (BF3/BF4)
-Operation Locker (BF4)
-Siege of Shanghai (BF4)-Grand Bazaar (BF3)
-Any Map from BF3 is fine by me ANY!

128 player metro anyone?
128 player Metro or Locker would probably be a pretty popular addition, even though I personally wasn't a fan of those maps, it's obvious a bunch of players were//are.
I say bring it on!

I quite liked playing Operation Underground in BFV, the reimagined verion of Metro.
It added a bit of variety and I liked the change of style / pace.

I liked the change of pace, after a load of maps dealing with planes or tanks it’s nice to switch it up into something else.
Just another nail in the coffin of enjoyment for me I’m afraid for 42.

@FlibberMeisterYea tell me about it, a change of pace is a good idea for sure. I made an infantry only mode on Paraiso the other day, in Portal, using BF3 assets and it actually played pretty well and was fun ( I used PvE bots).
Definitely hoping that Portal gets some love soon, from the devs.
