Re: Whats the deal with the weather in bfv and 2042?

@VikingsOfOslo in previous games sometimes weather was used with good results, for example in BF1 the sandstorm would trigger more often if one side was being decimated, the idea being the cover of the sandstorm would allow vehicles to get past the first capture point without being destroyed. However it also appeared randomly, and same goes for other weather effects. I think the visuals of a lot of the effects are done well but more often than not they are a hindrance to most players, and in maps that are much more open don't have the same results as they did in previous games - ie fog in BF1 meant shotgun time in trenches, sandstorm in hourglass just means I can't see much in an already barren space (but then the map looks its best after the sandstorm passes with the skyscrapers lit up).

It would probably help if there were some tools that could assist in bad weather, ie night vision, and IR goggles / visors / scopes for infantry and vehicles. You would just need to balance these enough that they aren't OP when weather is fine.

That said I would prefer to see less weather effects that just simply make things harder to see, and weather effects in general to be less common.

It would be cool if they had some that actually changed the level like the original concept art - ie flooding so different vehicles and routes are used, avalanches / glaciers breaking as a destructible element. Seeing a tornado, or several every second game gets stale.

If they want to make the maps a bit more dynamic without using thunderstorms everywhere they could use some different clear / cloud sky settings with different times of day, ie dawn, midday, afternoon, dusk, and night on rare occasions, some of the previous games had levels with this feature.
