- AOD_CapStar3623 years agoSeasoned Ace@NazT55 i find that hard to believe as it happens quite often, yesterday while fighting multiple infantries i was forced to retreat in an attempt to at least get back to cover, there is no way a RAO player got within range to hack me - as i made a full retreat into an uncap to repair and yet again, drone above me and got hacked.
i typically dont retreat like that, but i had no where else to go. so something is up, what is the actual range of RAO's hack reach? i was a good 80-100m inside the line and the drone was above me still buzzing in a hover. - NazT553 years agoSeasoned Ace@AOD_CapStar362 Maybe you are confusing the EMP blast with the hack?
- AOD_CapStar3623 years agoSeasoned Ace@NazT55 nope, EMP doesnt give you "HACK WARNING" in bright yellow, i know the difference.
The drone was above and left of me, and the HACK directional indicator was at my 11 clock position, matching the vertical direction of the drones position.
I wouldn't even be asking this if i knew it was something else. and my Shadow Play has expired now, so I dont have it on video, but it was DEFINITELY a hack warning pointing at the very direction of the drone.
I know the indicator does not give me vertical awareness but horizontal, and where the drone was, the animated warning pointed right at it.

@Psubondno this was Hourglass CQ Large.
And check your DM'sidk then, the new specialist can disrupt with her gadget, was it that?
- AOD_CapStar3623 years agoSeasoned Ace@Psubond no, this was clearly RAO - i had the very bright "HACK WARNING" and the animated lines on my HUD. but i was deep back in the US Uncap of Hourglass where it would be impossible to get back there on foot or even deep diving with a vehicle and still have time. but sure enough, a Casper drone was right above me.

The hack warning message relates to Rao so normally I'd link this to him (Casper's drone doesnt hack infantry of course). However, I did notice when playing the tank CQ mode in Portal that I kept seeing the location revealed message which you get when Paik scans an area, despite either being surrounded by other tanks or out of the action somewhere else, so perhaps the messages are bugged?
- @ElliotLH that sounds likely. di the hud scramble or just display the warning (it said hack warning but did you actually get hacked?)

@Psubond Different message in my case I'm afraid, it was the 'location revealed' one which I kept seeing. It just sounded similar to me. I'm 99.9% sure that I hadn't actually been spotted though as there weren't any infantry nearby.
Think this is one of those occasions where a video would be handy. Should have recorded one of the message I was seeing but apparently that didn't occur to me at the time.
