Re: Why helo respawn time should be short (60-90 seconds)

This doesn't feel like a good faith argument.

Goal: To prevent infantry farming by heli.

Solution: Nerf infantry, buff heli.

Really?

Just be transparent and say that you are a heli main and find the respawn timers and stingers annoying.

    @AngrySquid270I believe you will realize my post is actually true if you play helos (attack helicopter category) for just a few dozens of hours. I want to destroy enemy helos before they ambush me but FXM prevents me from fighting against them.


    I want opinions from those who are good at both infantry and vehicles...

    Why aren't the stingers on your team effective in preventing the ambush?  If stingers can prevent you from engaging other heli's, shouldn't that also be true for the enemy pilots?

    Also you signed up for a 64-128p game.  I don't think clean 1v1 fights should be an expectation/reasonable design goal.  You should always expect some degree of teamwork - both in your favor and against.

    Ambush is possible when there's no FXM on enemy. There are FXM players most of the time but not all the time.

    There are air transport vehicles and jets, so removing FXM from air combat doesn't mean 1v1 fight.

  • I realized most of you say "AA missile" or "stinger" instead of "FXM." Is there any reason?

    @MZR_926 "AA Missile" is pretty generic for this type of missile, in BF4 the "Stinger" behaviour pretty much matches the FXM in BF2042 (lockon-fire-forget). BF4 IGLA mechanics are quite different, but it also is an AA Missile.
    I think SAM (surface-air-missile) would also qualify.

    I think the correct term would be MANPAD

    As for the question you responded to...stinger is a generic term and a lot of us use it just like we would call something that works liike a javelin a javelin instead of some weird designator
