Re: Why is there no Console Only Cross-Play?

Exodus is currently not working on PC and hasn't been for the 4th day now so that should account for a lot.

To be honest, gameplay with console only players is day and night, They should definitely introduce this option as soon as possible! Default crossplay with console only, and second option - crossplay also with PC. 

Today on twitch stream @PartWeIsh  he wrote that they are still collecting feedback on this topic, So let's give feedback!

Big problem some pc players are RUINING all games for honest players out there.

Watched a pc player tonight destroy everybody.

They were 30 -1 at that point then after sat back for the rest of match to hide the blatant cheating.

With new COD showing just how bad the situation is with some PC players and its a fair few thousand  i'm hoping they have console only crossplay.

You guys always jump right to that bandwagon don't you? "I don't want to play with PC players because they cheat" It's a big pile of horse doodoo. There are cheats for console as well and if you don't believe that, you're fooling yourself....am I saying that there are no PC cheaters, of course not, I know there are. So you think just because you play on a console you're better than us lowly PC players and deserve special treatment? How about instead of cutting our already small player base in half, we fix cheaters. And TBH, most of what you all are calling "cheaters" is bad net coding. I personally have only seen a few people that I was pretty sure are enhanced gamers and one of them was console. 

The real issue here is net coding. Something in the servers doesn't like console mixed with PC. That has zero to do with cheaters. Let's fix that and cheaters and all play together, cause you won't find a full game otherwise very often I'm betting. It can be done as other titles do it....

1. cheating on consoles is not as devastating as on PC.

2. Every player's level is different, the same controller match is more fair, you can't say that there are some controller players against keyboard and mouse is easy to represent all players are the same.

3. Look at the APEX, this game does not have the problem of cross play

I get killed as much by console as PC. Unfortunately I can't tell if the PC is KBM or controller. Instead of screaming about PCs, why don't we scream for them to FIX THE GAME and not separate us and limit our already too low player base.

More than 10 years ago, Microsoft tested Consoles vs PC players, with the XBOX 360... 

It was a ""Microsoft project that was designed to allow console gamers and PC gamers to interact and battle over a connected environment." During the testing, extremely talented console gamers were pitted against "mediocre" PC gamers in what appears to be some type of shooter. The Xbox gamers used their 360 controllers and the PC gamers used the traditional mouse/keyboard combo.The results?

"The console players got destroyed every time. So much so that it would be embarrassing to the XBOX team in general had Microsoft launched this initiative."

Soodcredited the outcome tothe combination of the superiormouse/keyboard setup, and his belief that "You simply don't get the same level of detail or control as you do with a PC over a console.""

Not sure why they keep pushing consoles to play with PC players...

I would love console only crossplay. Plays so much nicer. Now I play only few matches and stop. Movement and accuracy is much different with M&K. And of course cheating in games got much worse and anticheats don't really work in majority of games. 

And this is a more recent comment from Spencer, current head of Xbox:

But this is the internet, so I don't try to convince anyone of anything. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

And my opinion is that as a PS5 owner, I don't want to play a game such as this against PC m+k.

Yes as a matter of fact my position is that cheating is equal between PC and console. I do NOT make a distinction between a macro and aimbot and neither should you. The are ALL cheats! Anything that changes the game to make it easier or to gain an advantage over another player is a CHEAT whether it's a VPN, macro, script, cronus, aimbot or wallhack. Guess what....every platform does it. I'm betting we'd be surprised at the number of consolers using something, so stop saying "PC players cheat so I don't to play with them". I'm betting an equal number percentage wise of console players are "enhanced". I get killed by console players and PC players with controllers as much as anything. I'd say that at least 50% or maybe more of my deaths are by console if we're honest here. The real problem with crossplay is GAME CODE.

One of the real differences between PC and Console and why it seems much easier for PC is the setup. A lot of consoles are in the living room, tied to a low response, very large TV. You lean back on the couch sitting 6 feet from an 80" wide monitor and try to play. And that's FINE, you're casual and relaxed, we get it. Play on. Then you face a PC player who has a 28", 2ms 240hz monitor sitting upright in a chair 2 feet from the monitor. You on the couch have to turn your head 10-15 degrees back and forth to see everything while PC player sweeps his eyes a couple of inches either direction. Which is easier? Try plugging your console into a high performance monitor and sit up 2 feet from it and play. You might be surprised...

I'm not disputing they are both cheats. They are.

My point is some cheats are more disruptive than others.

Personally I'm willing to sacrifice a few seconds of matchmaking to ensure I never encounter the worst kind of cheats (among other reasons I'd prefer not to play with PC).

@AngrySquid270 I don't want to derail the thread, but you keep saying, "the worst kind of cheats". I don't see what the difference is, a cheat is a cheat is a cheat. That's like saying there are degrees of death...you aren't part dead or really dead. You're just dead...

@scanerboy  although you have a valid point about cheating, it only adds to the problem. Even if we somehow manage 0% cheating, we still have the problem with crossplay with PC. The main problem being MKB vs controller. We need consoles with crossplay without PC and if Dice is not ready with this option, then have crossplay completely disabled and work on it until it is ready and then make it an option for people to enable that do want to play with their PC friends. It would be great to have crossplay with console as default, so PlayStation and XBOX. Most importantly, the crossplay without PC should be the default on console for this to work (if crossplay is not ready, then disable crossplay as default setting on console), if not the default we will never find a game to play on console. Most people after installing Battlefield do not go into settings, they jump in and start playing, which will result in a bad experience and you know what happens next, they uninstall.

I have yet to hear a single successful response to this one...so here goes again. For those of you that keep screaming "I don't want to play with PC because MKB is leet compared to controller", how do you explain those that play on PC WITH a controller? Why would you do such a thing if it was so inferior?

with cross-play off i cant even get  into a match even tho its supposed to be filled with bots but its not and ive only see maybe 6 players total waiting for a match to fill but doesnt and this is in eastern US so whats the deal here.  im tired of playing against PC cheaters, and yes they are in the game.  they need to put in a server browser

So your response is, "they're too tired to use KBM anymore"? Really, that's the best you have? Why would anyone, if KBM is so all powerful, limit themselves knowingly? Why do half of all the "pro" streamers use controller? It's because controller can be competitive with KBM IF THE GAME CODE WORKS PROPERLY. Stop finding any excuse to split the already small user base and blaming PC players for this game being sub par. It's just not true. IF the game was coded correctly, I'm willing to bet we wouldn't have all this screaming about PC. I play PC along with thousands of others and I don't think every PC player is cheating and KBM is not as good in this game as you think...in fact is broken af still to this day even with the last patch.

or input matchmaking..

Only first you need to have people playing this game to divide the community like this ;-)
