Re: Why not a open cheaters list?

Games in the past have had it, some being websites started by the community to allow comments on each profile that's been banned.

It creates a leaderboard for cheaters and a cesspit for angry victims to throw burning text-forks at them.

Cheaters want attention and any attention is good attention and this would be the same negative attention they can easily receive from cheating in-game, so they get double.

Vote kicking is the easiest way to get cheaters and other unfriendly friends out of servers. Democracy FTW.

  • Today was amazing!

I thought that was an isolated case, but... 4 or 5 low-level players (smaller than 40, one with 24) doing 40+ in 3 in a TDM match? During the whole day, the same.

I'm tired to report, but I find a way to sort out the problems, I'm uninstalling this *, as I've done with all the CoD

As those of you who frequent this place will notice, I have only recently started showing up here more often. Then, guess what, I started getting occasional emails from EA saying that they had addressed the report. It's as if they had forgotten they existed... Perhaps they rank the quality of players who report them? Users who post frequently on the forums are definitely active users and should be able to see it from their game activity, so maybe they are processing reports on such a system. If so, I think EA's response policy is disappointing to users.

I think with thousands of reports unless they have an army of people to address them it may take a while for a resolution. To stop my game to address a cheater seems like a no go for me. The anti-cheat seems ineffective to me.

@sk1lld what you said is 100% correct

Last few days cheaters have been rampant everyone in chat "he is cheating"

My reply "Well go report them" then you get "How do i do that"

The reporting should be more easier rather than putting in an essay-

Its either going to be aimbot, wall hack, speed hack

Im happy to report them but only if im in the spawn screen

Open cheaters list = naming and shaming

naming and shaming = against the code of conduct.

Personally, I think that the old way of dedicated servers rented by communities who could manage their undesirables was the best system.

This meant that we did not have to depend on EA to react or to overreact

Well, there is a bit of a difference between eliminating cheaters and exposing them. I understand how you feel.

@sk1lld Yes. But if you are selling content and gaining players on a global scale, you need support costs on a scale commensurate with that. I think people are skeptical of EA's response because they don't seem to be doing enough.
  • As I told you, I finished my cheater's problems, I just uninstalled the game!

I'm back to my old single-players.

    Ah!

If at least the matching makers worked, would be easy, all the cheaters in the same match, but it doesn't.
