Regarding the 'floatiness' of jets
In the recent Dev Podcast, it was mentioned how the feedback thread focusing on jets had many people describing the jets as feeling 'floaty', information that was vague and so the team decided to change how the camera behaves in coordination with your inputs. First of all, this change has been a good one. I've been experimenting with them a bit in a solo lobby and it does feel tighter, but that isn't the sole reason they have been considered 'floaty'.
To me, it boils down to the side to side drift that occurs while going into a strafe. The sideways momentum of the jet isn't properly cancelled out when flying towards a target, which leads you drifting or floating off to the side. And since your drift affects the trajectory of your bullets, it leads to aiming feeling rather inconsistent and out of your control most times.
Take a look at this first video. When I exit a turn the jet continues to slide to the left or right for a substantial amount of time, almost turning around the thing I'm targetting. The bullet's own velocity is affected by this motion, and with the convergeance of the guns it can make aiming rather inconsistent.
Then look at how bf4 does it. The sideways momentum is cancelled out almost immediately, with the only drift being the roll of the jet. This feels sharp, it feels responsive and feels like you have more control, the opposite of floaty.
So to me, in order to improve the feeling of jets in 2042, making it so the velocity of the jet aligns with the crosshair sooner after a turn would simply feel more responsive and less drifty.
I've just gone and made another recording that demonstrates this behaviour in action, although I am still getting used to the feel of the new yaw and didn't expect to kill this target, you can see how the drift of the jet still has me sliding to the right which throws off my shots. I don't think it would be that bad of a thing to make it feel a little more like you are under control.
