Regional Pricing

Hello there!

As some of you who live in third world countries with bad economies would know the regional pricing for EA games is not affordable. I live in turkey and 419.99TL (41€) would be affordable in other countries but not here. It's 1/3 of our salary here and most if not all people don't wanna pay that much for a game. Any plans to make these games affordable for people like me who live in these countries? Also when regional pricing first came to Turkey the prices were way better. They were more affordable. We would pay 120TL for a game max. So why have we gone backwards?

  • Hey all!

I'll be jumping in and closing this as it seems to turn into a bit of a sensitive topic.

I understand income and currency exchange isn't the same for everybody globally but at this time there is not much I can share on the current pricing model nor any potential future plans to change how it currently works.

There is always a look into what's possible and we do want as many players as possible to play our games but as you can imagine this is not always easy.

    Thank you for the feedback.

  • @iComrade5 EA has no control over exchange rates my dude, or a given countries economy 😉 A cheaper option might just be to get an EA Play Pro subscription.
  • The standard edition is £50 or 600TL here so there is some reduction.

The UK normally gets a straight $ - £ price which can be quite a difference.

EA has control over how much they want to price their games 😉 That's why regional pricing exists. So those in more unfortunate places can enjoy games. I can buy a PC, console whatever but I cant afford games anymore because how stupidly EA and Ubisoft have started pricing their games here. And miss me with that EA Play Pro *, I'm not paying 16€ a month just to rent some games. That's how much we should be charged for a AAA game here. And I just wanna remind you that games are worth NOTHING. Their worth is decided by how much people are willing to pay for it.

Direct comparison to pound from multiple different currencies. 30£ would be a pretty cheap price for a brand new 3A game there right? But not here. As I have mentioned in my post 30€ is 1/3 or 1/4th of our monthly salary. Don't know what other people think I can safely say that this is an absurd price to pay for a game. That is why EA and Ubisoft have to fix their Regional Pricing. Gaming in these countries are slowly dying thanks to these absurd prices.

  • @iComrade5Well, I'm sorry you live where you do lol. EA can't help you there. EA isn't going to give you a game for $5 just because you live where you do. You want to play you pay the piper 🙂 How about this, send me your PayPal and I'll by it for you 🙂 I'm feeling generous lol

@Threedog1421 Thanks, you're really nice but get this...

We don't have paypal here :D

If you're serious about that you can just send a gift card over to me with steam.

  • @iComrade5 An EA Play sub, which is I think $15 USD? I was it $10 USD? I can't recall, lets you play the gold or ultimate edition of games at no additional cost. You're essentially getting to play the $110 version of the game for just that monthly subscription fee.
