Self repairing vehicles are damaging game play.
In previous versions aircraft had to fly back to the team base repair rather than just leave the combat zone for a short time. Their fire power and abundance remove the ability to attack or defend as infantry. If the vehicles can self repair the engineer tool is redundant.
@Contact-w8-out except before BF1/5 with the exception of the PC only Refractor titles (BF1942-BF2142) vehicles self repaired. The older more popular system was brought back in direct resposne to community complaints about tanks having to sit on the edge of the map and snipe instead of PTFOing like they did before BF1. Personally I think going back to the older system was better for overall gameplay.
And let's be honest, engineers didn't repair more in BF1/5, tankers just hit "X" inside the vehicle to self repair without an engineer.
Just remove the auto-healing on land vehicles only. Heli's and jets are already squishy as is and can't survive much (unless they do the orbit chopper thing ugh)
This will make the repair tool much more important as the self-healing ability isn't that strong imo

I thought tanks had an optional mod a user could select, repair or shielding or something else I forget. At B least there was in BF 4 right?
I think it makes sense that a tank has limited self repair as an optional mod as long as it’s balanced with the mechanic. That way it’s up to the user as to which features/benefits the tank has. If a tank can have all the features without having to make a choice of one over the other, then I think we loose out in terms of game play.
again, perhaps it’s a choice server/portal admins could make.im none the wiser as to how 2042 balances in that regard.

@Daeyon-beeven the ground vehicles are nowhere tanky enough. One person with the M5 is already a big danger and there can be many more as well as homing grenades, other tanks, AGM missiles etc.
