You underestimate the greed of people for cheap kills. As long as there is a way of a no-risk-high-reward-kill, people will abuse the * out of it.
This is the reason, why meta slaves promote anything, that doesn't require any effort to get tons of kills and are the first if their toy gets nerfed. And then only find the next meta weapon and only play this.

@Terminator000001 You're probably right. I do tend to try to be positive about player habits but it sometimes burns me.
It sure is easy kills though and I'm trying not to use it too much myself for that reason.
